You’ve had a great week for weather, Corners, in a wonderful setting👍🏻👍🏻

There hasn’t been a weak pic👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks TW and Rocky, we were certainly lucky with the weather. These are my favourites from Monday around Buttermere.
I'll let people name the mountains as a quiz, but I noticed Fleetwith Pike looking at me very reproachfully as that's the only one that I've haven't climbed, but back in late June so maybe then.

WN, hope your neighbour is home soon and feeling better.
Thank you to all those who commented Re Denplan, I'm still thinking it over.
DK, re your question. As a former dental nurse I would say it all depends on each person's mouth health. If it's good with no issues then yes once a year should be fine. However if there is any reason that a person has an issue, then twice a year is best.
Had it not been for my SILs dentist she may well not be with us now. Her dentist noticed something on the inside of her cheek which he didn't like the look of. He sent her to the hospital for a check which turned out to be cancer. She was fortunate they caught it early but she did have to have a few operations, skin grafts and chemo.
I can get away with once a year check but I do prefer to see the hygienist twice a year, as I make a lot of plaque.
Nicer day today more blue sky but still a chilly wind.
Lots of leisure vehicles going north up the A9 today, I hope they have their thermals with them 😉😅
Have a nice Easter weekend all those away I hope the weather plays ball.

Lots more lovely photos Corners. It’s a long time since I walked all around Buttermere. I was on a weeks course with college, a work qualification and we were staying at the Youth Hostel up there. Poured it down all week, but we still got out and about. Beautiful place, we got very familiar with the pub🤣

We are away in the van arrived on site early afternoon site very busy. Lovely weather nice and sunny so we got the Cadac out and cooked steak first time we’ve been able to do that this year while away sat out with a beer or two but getting a bit cold now sun now behind the trees. Not much planned tonight
Hope everyone has a nice weekend

We were on a good fix for both gas and electricity until 15 months back, so not worth the outlay then, but at today's prices it will help.
We have had 21 kWh from the roof today. Quite a simple job to install this device, was recommended by a friend of our daughter.0 -
We came home yesterday from Penrith, a day earlier than we had originally intended, because of a mix up with dates for OH's last dental visit of this current session of treatment. It rained all day but we managed to get the van cleared out as per normal and 2 lots of washing done. As It has turned out It was fortune that we did return yesterday as there has been an accident on the M6 South which has closed the motorway all day and we would have hit the traffic, then the A590 was also closed for another accident and we would have been held up there too!! Goodness knows how long our trip home would have taken.
It has been fine and sunny today, but with a chill wind. OH got the rest of the washing done and dried outside, as well as her visit to the dentist and collecting her prescription this morning and her hair cut this afternoon. Me, I just took Flyte out for numerous walks, and restocked the wine cellar with the 25% off offer at Morrisons. We pay around £35 each for our Denplan care, but that includes 2 Dental inspections and 4 Hygienist visits per year, as well as the usual cost free treatment as required. As we are away so much should we need emergency treatment we can get it throughout the country, as has happened a couple of times in the past. I dread to think how much OH's latest session of visits would have cost had she been going private!!
Tricky, hope you continue with posting on here as a non-member, and hope all goes well with you with your chosen club!
WN, hope that your borrowed dog doesn't exhaust you too much with all the walking you will give it. What sort of dog is it, btw?
More grand photos, CS, but I bet it wasn't liked that yesterday!
How is your OH's back doing, tda, improving I hope.

Glorious good Friday morning here on site sun is out so sitting outside the van with a cup of coffee site very busy it’s nice to see the site busy again and the trees gaining their leaves feels very spring like today. Hope everyone else has a nice long weekend home or away

Lovely here too Francis, we've been sitting out in the garden with a coffee and a hot cross bun. A few walkers out on the footpath between us and the fields and the distant hum of holidaymakers on the A303, that noise depends on which way the wind is blowing and it's very calm today We will avoid coastal spots this weekend but it's a good start for everyone! Enjoy the holiday whatever you are doing.

OH has recovered nicely Nellie thank you. He just needed a bit more supervision to make him do a lot less and have a bit of a rest from certain activities. And a few ibuprofen.
It’s a glorious morning here as well up in Yorkshire, blue skies, a few fluffy clouds. Beautiful up at Mum’s, she lives on edge of a rural area, so Buzzards are out floating overhead, daffs are nodding. I can here lambs, but not see them.

Gosh all this talk of dental plans worries me. We are very lucky to have an NHS dentist who looks after all of us. We get two check ups a year, and any other treatment required paid at NHS rates. Dentist cleans and polishes my teeth, I have never been referred to hygienist, I think OH had a session last year. Like someone else (possibly Debsc🤔) I have to be shot full of pain killers for a deep clean as I have sensitive gums. But I go religiously. X-rays next time I was forewarned.

I was going to ask about the pooch as well WN, what kind? I hope your neighbour is ok.
0 -
Just a quickie as said pooch due to arrive any moment as neighbours wife off to visit. It's a well behaved 4/5 y.o. Cockapoo.
Neighbour rang home at 1.30 this morning just to tell his wife he had been moved. You can guess how she felt being woken up just to be told that can't you?
Nice afternoon to take a dog for a walk so that's what we'll do.
Must go.

Another lovely day here, would be good if it continued like this for a while!
Busy packing for our trip, not used to having to pack stuff into bags. Clothes done, towels and bedding done, having a rest before starting on the food. Perishables will be done in the morning.
The family have had a pretty good week away, only on wet day. Their week seems to have gone very quickly.

Someone has adapted well to 'hospital time zone 😉
Hope you have a lovely walk.
Glorious here. Lovely walk, about 2 hours later than usual. Is seems Oak before the Ash here.
Had a quick trip out, exhausted OH, to look at shower cubicles, in case soil pipe leak leads to complete refit. It needs doing at some point. So did most bits of Homebase, grass seed, tester paints - that's my optimism 🤔, a couple of indoor succulents. Followed by visit to Tapri Carpets, right next door and finally into nearby, didn't make him walk, Dreams to look at bedheads. Little choice but think I've spotted what I like. Everywhere tells you only available online. I want to see it 'in the flesh'....
Back home for cuppa in the relaxer chair in the garden, as I type its cooling off.
Hope folks enjoying their time home or away.
And milliehull enjoyed the George afternoon tea - with or without the shops 😉. We have our booked, for the 3rd time for our last wedding anniversary in January, at carriages in Fen Drayton.
Edit KjellNN I found that hard now we don't have a motorhome 😕Previously packing was for NZ trip only. Hope rhe weather is kind to you and you have a rest.....

Lovely walk for an hour and a half.. Dog has been reclaimed but back with us tomorrow afternoon. Tests still ongoing for Mr.Grumpy (his OHs description).
We managed to get out to the caravan this morning. Making a list of items that need replacing, usually toiletries. All seemed fine in there.
Lovely weather for those away for Easter. Hope all enjoying themselves.
Bakers, we're still trying to get the enthusiasm to look at replacing our cooker. Might need it to fail before being forced into it.

What a beautiful day, it makes such a difference with your ‘get up and go’ mood! We’ve sorted all the house following the grand dog visit. He’s clean but I still felt I had to do a good vacuum around, also after our trip to the beach with him on Wednesday, and giving his feet a good wash at home, why/how did I find sand on the kitchen floor by his bed??!!! Changed one of the visitors beds and got that all washed and dried, cleaned the Conservatory and washed floor in there. I hope I’ll feel as energetic tomorrow 🤔😃.

I'm trying to keep enthusiasm going cos I daren't stop in case I can't restart 🤣😱 . 12 months Tuesday since we actually moved in. Lots done, more than we ever thought or survey indicated 🤐. I'm really hoping to do what we thought needed done, decorating...... before much longer 🤞
Di did the cooker not long ago, owing to it being 20c warmer than indicated on oven temperature. It was that or my sanity, I've rarely burnt food in the few years 😉 I've been cooking. But the old one made me say very naughty words...... Actually was very easy, looked at some online to narrow it down. Off to independent store to see them in the flesh, chat and compare. Took very little time. Good advice, better deal - price and warranty, delivered and fitted the following day and they took away the old one.
Bite the bullet 😀🤭

Grand day here too, but still a cool breeze. Managed to get both the caravan and the car hoovered out, bit more to do inside the van tomorrow and the must give it and the car a quick wash before our next trip. Just hope the weather stays fine to get them done.
Hope everyone has a lovely Easter, be you away on holiday or still at home.

Brilliant day to today, not a cloud in the sky. Nice in the sun but oh boy if you got caught in the shade when the wind blew you felt it, still cold coming off the tops of the cairngorm.
OHs back a little easier today, at least he is walking upright. I've been giving his back a massage to help loosen it up a bit, that and some Co codamol seem to be helping.
Nellie, your Denplan seems to be very similar to the one I'm one with the new price. Having the cover while away is a comfort.

I think we have most stuff packed, just some fridge and freezer food in the morning to go in the cool bags, I wonder what we may have forgotten?
As long as it is not my pills or OH's stuff, we should be OK, other things we can buy if necessary.
There is a sea of bags here......surely we must have everything!
Good day for the solar panels, 26 kWh produced

Made me chuckle heddlo - Meg is on the beach every day at home and I reckon between my car and the house, we must have most of Hornsea beach in there - or so it seems! We have to vacuum two or three times a day because there always seems to be more. You wouldn't believe what came out of my car before we came away this time - even though she's confined to her cage in there - probably enough for a sandcastle!! She has this wonderful habit of rolling on her back in the sand and having a good scratch - and of course, brings it all back home with her. Suppose it's better than fox poo, though

Suppose it's better than fox poo, though
I can assure you it most certainly is!
I agree sand seems to multiply, and its not only from the dogs......
Another bright frosty start about 6am,but now we have thick fog.
Heddlo it's amazing how the sun brings out your get up and go usnt it? Dull days mine got up and went....

Our cooker threatened failure not long before the seasonal festivities so I looked on line and ordered one from Curry's, unusually I didn't even check it out in the shop. I decided to go for a more expensive one than usual, a lot of the reviews had niggles. Even this new one has a cheap set of dials that let it down but the A rating has proved excellent everything cooks very quickly and evenly. My choice was a slot in dual fuel Rangemaster (not a range cooker, just a smaller version.) It's so fast at cooking I have to watch the settings!
Another lovely morning here, a bit more gardening and then hopefully just enjoy the day ahead. OH has got all his veg plants in, I'm trying to cut back on things, less pots to water etc. Thanks to our neighbours hive we have bees working hard too. 🙂🌞🐝

Life and work goes on as normal at Easter. Though the milk cows are now outside during the day, there is still a lot of mucking out and feeding to do. And of course milking twice a day! So no getting away (or even a full day off) yet. We will have to go and check out the caravan at some point. Last summer we had one night away, then had to dash home for a serious family emergency. The carvan was abandonned in the field behind the house and I can look at it from the loo with a view. I know/hope that we didn't leave any perishables in it, but one day soon I'll go and check what state it is in.
Our solar panels - on a farm building roof - are doing a wonderful job. Despite some dull miserable days over the past month they've produced at least half of the farm's power. A good job, as out fairly reasonable fixed tariff comes to an end very soon.
The farmhouse is on a different meter and the tariff is fixed until September. The house faces the wrong way and the roof is very old slate, and of course there's the installation cost, so no solar option there. But we don't have central heating and the water is heated by the Aga, so there's not much scope for cutting back. The washer and drier are connected to the farm (a long lead).
Back to work now - family coming for Easter Lunch tomorrow.

Yes thank you Bakers2 we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at The George in Stamford. Food, service and ambience all excellent. I am now dropping hints that I would like to go again sometime! We also managed a bit of shopping in the town beforehand - well it seemed a shame to not make use of the free parking at the hotel. Gosh is it a year since you moved. Doesn't time fly when you are having fun!
Nellie Is your next trip going to be one of your longer ones now that your OH's dental visits have finished? One of the reasons that I carry on with the (expensive ) denplan payments is that some years ago I had I had some very expensive treatment that needed doing and I dread the expense if something similar arises again.
I am glad the bad backs are improving. Both OH and I have sympathy. OH's mobility is not good at the moment but I think it is possibly because he has been doing too much gardening. He doesn't agree of course! Sorry to hear of your neighbour's troubles WN. I think I would have been annoyed if I was his OH and received a phone call in the middle of the night to say he had been moved. I hope he is soon back home.
Beautiful weather both yesterday and today but distinctly chilly out of the sun. N. Ireland family are in Spain at the moment where they keep sending reports of lovely warm weather. We spent the afternoon yesterday with my friend who lost her husband just before Christmas. She fell about 10 days ago and badly broke her arm and has had to have an operation on it. She was discharged a few days ago and has spent sometime with one of her daughters but yesterday was her first day back in her own home. Fingers crossed that all goes well.
We need a new oven but it will have to wait a while as we have just arranged to have the windows in our conservatory replaced which will be done as soon as we get back from the Yorkshire Dales. My jobs today is to sort out the packing as we are going to our daughter's tomorrow,

We are on our second cooker in 39 years. First did us proud, it was a wedding present from Mum and Dad, so good it went to a neighbour after we changed, some eight years ago. We opted for a Rangemaster dual fuel as well Brue, the one and a half size, long thin oven as well as main oven. Been delighted with it.

Easy half hour tow home today van back on its space in the drive sun shining so will head out to the garden soon
