Fuel availability in France
We are planning a touring holiday in France with our caravan leaving on Sunday 16th April. Does anyone have any recent experience of touring in France and how the recent strikes are affecting availability of fuel at the moment?

Hi Coach Man,
We are currently in Normandy, been here since Sunday 2nd.
No evidence of any shortages of fuel, just filled up this morning and paid €1.75 litre for diesel.
Tomorrow we make our way to Saumur in the Loire Valley, I will keep you updated as to the situation in that region if it will be of help.
Speaking to the locals, they don’t think there will be a problem, they expect the government to cave in in the short term.
Lets hope their right 🤞🏻

That’s good news Red Kite.
AfterSaumur were off further south to Trémolat, Nouvelle Aquitaine.

Good to hear. We’ve a ferry crossing to Bilbao booked for early June, and the plan is to meander over to the French Pyrenees and catch a stage of the Tour de France.
If there’s a problem with fuel in France, we’ll have to stay in Spain, no hardship though 🙂.0 -
Spoke to my brother who lives in Brittany and he states that the shortages are mainly restricted to city areas, with about 20% of refineries being targeted. He has had no problems finding diesel and hasn't heard of anyone else having problems.
Just keep the tank topped up as you go along.
