Very sad this morning to hear of this lovely man’s death. He was so versatile in his career, and so down to earth. He gave comfort and friendship to many on a Sunday afternoon with his radio program, until the BBC sadly changed things. And his work at Battersea was legendary. I will always remember his tribute to Cilla at her funeral. So many legends going lately. He will be missed.

Very shocked to hear this news this morning. So many lovely tributes already from those who knew him. Rest in Peace.

2nd very surprising sudden death I've heard of in 7 days. The other sons friend in early 40's. Life is very precious!

Another shocked one here. It wasn’t long ago I was in a group wondering if another Battersea series was in the can, it was a treat watching his style🤷🏻‍♂️. The Dog whisperer-He will be sorely missed.

    +1, Rocky.

He will forever be linked in my mind to Battersea dogs home. His natural empathy with the dogs was pure joy to watch.

When you look at some of the weasels and cronies that surround us in Public Life you wish there were more people like Paul O'Grady in the world and less of some of the others.

A true campaigner for Dogs and the LBGT+ community.

"Shocking" is a word all too often used for this sort of news but truly fitting in Paul O'Grady's case. Not sure of the cause of death but we certainly had no inkling of any illness. A truly kind and caring person, never afraid to share a joke at his own expense, can't imagine a bad word being said about him. He will be sadly missed not least because of his campaigning work for Battersea Dogs home.

    RIP Paul O'Grady.

I read that he had heart problems but must have been another real trouper going on tour with "Annie," another sad  loss.

Apparently fans of Paul have, in the few days since his passing, raised something like £150k in favour of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home !!
