Amendments to old system booking

If I amend a location on a booking made under the old system and keep the exact same dates does the amendment then incur a deposit and the "new" price. I am aware that this type of amendment has to be done via the HQ booking department on the phone however they are not open at weekends which is another issue in itself.

If anyone has any knowledge or has carried out such ammendments if would appreciate you feedback.

Why does it have to be done as an amendment by Head Office?

You can simply cancel the old booking on line, and then make the new booking on line.

I don’t think it was ever possible to 'amend' a location. Amendment refers to altering the dates, people, outfit etc for a booking at a particular site. To change location is instigating a whole new booking.

It certainly was possible to amend location under the old system. I did that a number of times when weather was not favourable where we were going but was nicer somewhere else. One of the perks under the old system.

I have no idea if that would now be possible without penalty. I would expect ETs post to be how it is now dealt with.

I was prompted to ask because under the new system if you change the location and keep the exact same dates you are not penalised with loss of deposit so I am wondering if you change the location of an old system booking would it keep the original T's & C's which would be beneficial to me. I appreciate the fact that I can cancel and re-book but that would definitely attract the new system T's & C's

Interesting,  so if you were to change location under the new system there is no penalty, I take it that would have to be done more than 21 days before arrival.

No penalty at any point in time but MUST be exact same dates and done on the phone so as not to cancel and re-book

But could you do that online, TG, as that’s not my recollection? I’ve done it myself via a site office or head office.

No, you couldn't change location as an "amendment" under the old system  (at least, not on line). What you could do was simply cancel your original booking, without penalty,  and make a new one.

Obviously, I've no idea what is possible under this new system. wink

I'm pretty sure you could only amend dates. We once tried to change from a serviced pitch to a standard on at, I think, Exebridge - we could only do it by cancelling and rebooking.

Yes we often added or changed dates, but as I recall I once inadvertently booked  a non SP and could only change it by cancellation and rebooking which I did just in time (Phew) but of course it was easier then.

Yes I used to do it online. That is my recollection.

We recollect differently, TG, and I recall other discussions along the same lines over the years also concluding that location did not feature as an amendment but required cancelling and rebooking. 🤷🏻‍♂️
