Overnight site close to Tunnel.
Doing a tour of the Rhine this summer and need an overnight stop on the way back and close to the tunnel to catch an early train. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

In days gone by we often stayed at Camping Fort Lapin at Bleriot Plage. It’s about 3 miles from the tunnel, less than that from a big supermarket for final shopping and from good restaurants in Calais for a final meal in France. It’s right beside the beach for dogs or children to play. and although it’s a while since we were there the reviews are still respectable.

Here are a couple more suggestions which have pretty easy access to the Tunnel.

If you prefer a CL type site about 40 minutes from tunnel.

We have used this site for about 12 years now, a lot of Brits use it. Daughter now running the site, just site yourself. We just turn up, always got on.

Like DavidRC we have stayed at Camping St Louis (ACSI 903) and also Camping Le Bien Assise at Guines (ACSI 908) many times. Both are less than 30 mins from the terminal and in the right direction for your route to the Rhine, we shall be using one or the other again in May. Le Bien Assise has an excellent restaurant whilst St Louis has a pleasant cafe style restaurant with reasonable choices and prices. We can recommend both. It might be advisable to check availability ahead especially for St Louis which is popular and has only 34 touring pitches, the charming lady owner speaks excellent English so is happy to take a phone call,
