Great news. That's the positive , the negative is only limited number of sites and must be booked by May.

Found out about it via FB but your link in opening post shows 'page not found'.

Link works for me as well and good news but a bit more restrictive than before.

Not a very friendly offer, 28 notice and has to be booked by 2nd June even for Sept to Dec bookings.

Just another way of getting deposits out of you.

Will the club reduce those bookings already made within these dates and sites. 🤔

Will the club reduce those bookings already made within these dates and sites.

As I put on the other thread.

Bookings already made are unlikely to be discounted, they aren’t with the other club and in the case of ours, the price has gone up by 4 / 5% since booking and that includes all dates, sites and weekends. If there was a saving there would be nothing to stop you cancelling and rebooking.

Ahh noticed you replied on the other thread. It’s getting a bit confusing, perhaps one needs to be closed.

It takes a few minutes to work out the finer details listed in the terms and conditions. Autumn bookings will probably be of value if prices rise over the year but only if a site in question is open. Quite a narrow opportunity gap but better than nothing if the actual sites appeal.

Midweek discount on the Pitch Fee still not likely to tempt me as not a huge saving in grand scheme of total price. For those that do want it its better than nothing.

Not at all attractive to wandering motorhomes then!  I presume the booking system takes account of the discounts so it won't be easy to see what the actual saving is. Like WN, I too am underwelmed.

So, with the family offer, it seems 2 adults plus 1 child will cost less than just 2 adults!

But how many adults with a 5+ child can take a holiday outside of school holidays?

The responses on CAMC FB are similar to here, it's like a game, thwarting the customers, I fear more will leave the club if this continues.

50% discount on touring pitch price (excluding tent pitches)

This from the terms and conditions suggests to me the discount will also fully apply to service pitches. Previously although a discount was applied to service pitches, you only received 50% off the standard pitch cost.

I don’t think folk are objecting to prices going down ET but the restrictive T&C’s. Particularly for the family saving, which requires a paying child (5 and over) to qualify. The only period covered by the applicable dates, not in school time for England, is October half term.

I've just had a look as I was getting excited. What an absolute con, or to be more precise the selling of a product via dubiously legal language or description. It is not 50% off as the discount refers to part of the goods and not the whole.

How many how many families are able to take children on holidays in term time? The answer taken from memory is quite a lot and many did so as it was cheaper to go in terms time even when taking the 'fine' into consideration. It was quite a problem to keep up the required attendance (if it went below a certain % then it was an Ofsted visit) during the summer term and around the skiing season too I recall.

Of course this was to more expensive holidays abroad usually just a month or so either side of a school holiday and it might not be worth it for a caravan holiday where the costs/savings won't be as great.

However while it is in term time the discount is available all days of the week and can start on any day and only a two night minimum is needed so it will be worth it for families at weekends and Hillhead would be a good saving?

There was a thread recently where people complained about mid week discount being removed and there are still complaints now it's back on. But as always either use it or not.

But I'm wondering at what the club means by trying watersports at Troutbeck Head Club Campsite unless they mean paddling in the stream there? The nearest watersports are a good few miles away and mainly boating/sailing type. I don't know why they didn't use hiking and walking as a better example?

Sorry had to edit as I got the first bit wrong, the t&cs need some scrutiny here. The old mid-week discount was very different, based on the less popular seasons, it was a useful addition. I don't think encouraging families to take a child out of school is acceptable it's discouraging to read they might think it's ok. frown

You mentioned "water sports" at Troutbeck, I noticed spending time on the beach at Hillhead....the beach is a very long distance from the site and requires a stout pair of walking boots too! wink

Agree Brue. Sadly nothing there for us, as we cannot book 28 days in advance, and like many with MHs and campervans, tour and stay on a whim if in the area.

I hope some can benefit from the offers, but it’s looking like a very specific type of tourist.

Yes other thread now closed, apologies folks didn't see Rowenas post when I started mine.

Its not a great offer really, nowhere near as good as previous one. I seem to remember it was always just 50% off the pitch fee. Off course now we don't have a price guide you can't easily see what the pitch fee is.

I did a bit of trial booking for Balbirne site and worked it out. The saving over 3 days was £14.25. When I broke it down the pitch fee would have been £9.50 and an adult £8.20 so 50% off pitch fee was £4.75.

The other issue is that having to book by 2nd May for December is a bit of a joke some of the sites will already be closed.

Haven't looked at the family offer but it doesn't sound great from previous posts.

Yes realised that after I posted 😔 not great is it book 28 days in advance but you have to have done that by 2nd May.

That means for December bookings 6 mths in advance, yet more money making out of deposits. Some of the sites listed won't even be open come December or for most of November. 😡

It won't be of any use to us due to the compulsory 3 day stay, can't even take advantage of a night halt on the way south.

The dates the offers are on we will be away anyway but not in the UK.

Just checked out the first dates, 27-30th March at FM, a saving of £6 pn however this needs booking in the next few hours to be within the 28 day booking time limit! Although we've heard about the offers on here and CAMC FB will the general membership be up to speed or will they miss out on the March offer?

Should have taken my time looking properly at the offers as 2nd.May is cut-off for MWD whereas 30th.April is for Family Savers. Don't know why they chose different dates.

As a new member (who’s already a member of ‘another club’), I was excited to receive the offer email as I’m in the process of booking a tour for October.

After trying multiple times to book and not getting anywhere near the 50% off I was expecting, it suddenly dawned on me that, despite no apparent small print, the pitch fee wasn’t what I was actually booking/paying when I was booking a pitch!!!!!

Having read the above comments, it appears that some members at least, know this is the case. However as someone who has booked pitches for years with ‘another club’ or direct with sites and received (if applicable) a 50% discount on a pitch and paid exactly that I feel that this supposed offer is a complete con
