Brittany Ferries
Just had a email to say that from 1st March that all Ferries on board prices will only be in Euros only and that they will still accept payment in Sterling but it will be converted at the daily rate available for that day of payment.

Most will be prepared for being in Euroland, spending wise, but there are potential costs for conversion and Sterling only CC.

I'm not sure the £ is weakening. It floats between 1.08 and 1.12 Euros to the £. Currently seems to be sitting in the middle. Looking back at previous year leading up to Covid this is fairly typical, as is the climb to up to 1.18 in the summer.
The difference in buying and selling is what has always wound me up. A money broker friend of mine used to look at margins of a penny in the pound on transactions of £100K, so why do we get stung so heavily. Answer because the exchange bureaus are greedy.
