What are you all up to

I don't recall ever buying a brand new car but did buy a demo which had 20 miles on the clock, 10 of which was a test drive by us. A Kia Ceed which served us well. This new to us one has just 8000 on the clock and is nearly 4 years old so we should get a good few years out of it.
Bit of food shopping today. Nice sunny day.

We aren’t new car fans, you lose so much money. I think newest we have ever had was six months old, an MG Metro. Great little car. Seem to have dropped on with this Mini, 🤞 lovely car, nice to drive. Very stylish as well, plenty of character. It’s got the Chilli pack extras fitted, so plenty of tech. Just need to sort out linking phone now….🤔 Luckily, OH is into cars, so he is happy to do lots of research on second hand stuff. I do the negotiating with the dealers, wear them down for extras and money off🤣

Well the doctor's receptionist has just rung to say an appointment for the diabetic nurse is 17th April wow quick work as the doctor said he would have to make his own appointment he is pleased with that call.
Francis my car when we bought it in 2013 was 3 and half years old and only had 9000 miles on it as it was a disability car and even now still only has just under 25000 miles on it although as it is a Citroen C3 Picasso we have changed it to kilometres and it is blue.

I'm using a Samsung (updated to android 13) WN, is there anything in "settings?"
As for cars, I think we had one new company car but all the rest have been secondhand. OH spent too much time in the auto industry to feel the need for brand new, however someone's got to buy them and pass them on so all ok!
Had a horrible experience at the dentist today, nearly passed out and still feel wobbly now. Haven't got to go back till Aug so hoping this "event" will fade from my memory...
Following that had to go into town, which is so run down I was glad to get home! Not one of my good days, hope everyone else has fared better.
TDA, just remembered my Dad had an Airedale in Canada called "Chum" we have a few photos of Chum having a good time at summer camps on the Great Lakes. I've been lucky enough to visit some of those lakes too.

My Samsung phone running Android 12 doesn't seem to be 'gapping'.

Brue what a horrid experience at the dentist. I hope you fare better next time. Our town is now really run down as well. It used to be a really vibrant and lovely place to shop and meet friends but lockdown and then John Lewis pulling out has caused it to just die. There is no pleasure in going there now. It is so sad. We are off to Stamford shopping tomorrow and hopefully it will be more of a pleasure.
My phone is a samsung and I have had no problems ..... so far 👍

Visit to the dentist yesterday, no work required, just a scale and polish!
Put some soup in the microwave today, nothing extra ordinary in that, however after 5 mins I went through to check what was happening. Soup was tepid and no power, so checked the fuse nothing wrong there. So a new microwave was acquired!
Listened to Radio 2 in the car, thought the music was similar to the CD that I had in the car in fact it was the CD I was listening to only on shuffle!

Thank you Millie, enjoy Stamford, we thought it looked nice and hope to return one day. We have a few smaller towns locally that are doing better than the larger ones so I think, apart from occasional M&S visits I'll be sticking to smaller places.

Would love to see any photos of “Chum” brue👍 The breed has changed a bit down the years.

Seems normal to me, WN, but your others did too so not a lot of help here!!
OH has an unsuccessful further visit to our dentist, which has resulted in a series of bi-weekly visits till the end of March, which will curtail our going away for a while, and so we will have to resort to shorter and closer trips. Nearly disaster after the dental visit for me as I dropped my credit card in one of our Aldi car parks and didn't realise until we were in the line up at the till!! A frantic search produced no results, however after returning into the store and walking along with the store manager a guy asked if we were looking for something, and produced the card, which had picked up in the car park and was just going to hand in!! Phew, lucky me.

Indeed I do!
Gapping and jumping cursor on my Samsung phone- not on my Samsung tablet. Just happened as I went for 'punctuation' key but isn't consistent!
Doesn't happen elsewhere. Must read Wherenexts pist again and see if I can donsomething. First I must get up workmen due..... Actually had dormer insulating started along with hard landscapers yesterday 🤣. Looking forward to monitoring ensuite temperature, seems warmer but not finished,. No wonder it was cold, hanging tiles off very thin felt, and plasterboard 🥶🥶🥶🥶. Ensuite had been beautifully refitted a few years back but all show!
Sorry to read of your dental experience blue. Sounds dreadful
Must get up......

From memory Chum was quite woolly and didn't have too many haircuts..my sister has the photo album I'll see if I can borrow it.
Nellie sorry to hear your trip has been delayed but hope all the appointments go well, so lucky to find your card. OH left his in a shop machine once but the lovely local co-op ladies kept it for him. We had to return half way from a holiday set off!
Nice sunny day, cat has gone with OH for his yearly check up, OH could probably do with a "look over" too but will have to soldier on ....

That’s bad luck Nellie for your plans. But I hope Mrs Nellie gets sorted out asap and painlessly. I loathe going to the dentist, but I do go very regular. Very lucky on the credit card issue though.
Electrics all back on here yesterday, we just have a huge hole in the drive while the mastic they use on underground cables sets, then another team will come to fill things in. I am making a start in Mum’s garden today, just a bit of tidying up, bit of weeding. Nice to be out in fresh air.

Not a very nice day weather wise here. Shortish walk in intermittent rain and gusty winds this morning.
We told MiL that her favourite local dress seller was back on the market when we popped in on Saturday so she took herself off to town, via bus, this morning. Nothing gets in the way of that woman if she can be reasonably sure of finding clothes that fit her. Yep, she came home with 2 of them.
i've been tackling our document cabinet to weed out some old stuff. Intend to do a bit every so often as I've already filled shredding box. Only up to "C" for Caravan!
Mrs WN ordered a new Pochade box, a sort of artists' box of tricks, and an extension that fits on the side. The extension was delayed but arrives this afternoon, so she's a happy bunny.
Not good news on the teeth front for OH Nellie. Looks like it was a bad/good news day though.
Best wishes to Brue as well. Horrible when dentist visits cause such angst.

Yesterday husband Henry went to the Physio at our local hospital. All is going well, but she found a staple that had been left in when he had 22 of them removed last week. A quick appointment at the doctors sorted it. Also, it transpires one leg is now shorter (or longer ) than the other. He has another appointment in 6 weeks when they’ll look at it again. Shoe inserts might sort it.
He’s now crutchless - be careful how you read that - but keeps them handy just in case. I still have to fasten one shoe for him, but his carer can now take a step back.

Sounds as good progress is being made. Observant Physio to notice.

No chance, I didn't want to push my luck, I might have lost it for good had I used it again last night!! The guy who found it would not take any sort of reward, not even a bottle of wine as thanks. I just hope he had bought a lottery ticket and he won a prize.

OH left his in a shop machine once but the lovely local co-op ladies kept it for him. We had to return half way from a holiday set off!
We've done that too, brue, or should I say I've done that, as we had to drive back from a CL near Settle to Morrison's at Kendal when I left my card there!! Cards quite often do a disappearing act for me!!

Fairly decent day but very chilly wind.
Had the chap from the double glazing firm here again today (new windows fitted last April) 3 of the 5 windows not sealing properly and the lounge window has some weird marks appearing on the glass. I spent ages trying to remove them until we realised they are between the panes 😲 a couple of weeks ago he fitted a type of catch to the windows that was supposed to draw the window close together. Doesn't work, we still don't have a good seal. On windy days you can feel the draught. Not sure what is to happen now, his report stated he can do no more. Will give them until Friday to get in touch.
Good to her Mr Goldie is on the mend.
Brue, horrible experience for you at the dentist. I

My sincere apologies. I did notice later but too late to edit. However, if the cap fits..... 🤐.
Went into keyboard settings couldn't see anything to tweak and looking at this it seems a look wasn't sufficient 🤣🤣. This time caused by the return key to do another paragraph!
Can't remember how much I posted, and impossible to change pages to read without loosing post on this site!
Dormer cladding and insulation complete. Removal of hanging tiles revealed very thin felt and back of plasterboard, so just that and tiles. Now a barmy 12c at 6am, lucky if it got to that during the day when heating was on. It was a tropical 15c an hour ago. New window, its big, should make it even better! On order. Might even use the beautifully fitted ensuite 😉 before long. Can't understand paying thousands for refit and underfloor heating, not used that 😱, and not doing insulating. Chatting with neighbours who have same design house they've all insulated, many years ago....
Hard landscaping coming on now, front veg area being grouted as I type. And what we're once beds, now a bit trampled, are being dug over. One half of the retaining wall in the back garden complete, looks good. Exusting slabs lifted this morning so please pray for dry weather as it will be unbearably muddy. We are almost at the of end week 4 and at last its dry not frozen/thawed.....
I'm waiting for OH who's in for hair cut and beard trim. Not fund anywhere as good as Turkish barbers here. He misses the hot towels!
Good to read of Goldies husbands progress.

Bakers - And you called me a bigger waste of space. Hic......
I think the problem we both seem to have is caused by the return key which sets up a new paragraph which in turn elongates the compose box. Only happens with Samsung android and only since the recent maintenance. If I need to correct a sentence or just a word and go back to it to amend it the tablet throws a wobbly and starts pushing that sentence/paragraph further down the page. I'm trying to limit my use of it for comments.
This post is being made on a MacBookAir and doesn't seem to have any problems, non human ones that is.
Anyway I hope we both get to the bottom of it. Not sure if resetting the keyboard worked or not as I haven't tried anything too long on it.

We had a nice wander round Stamford yesterday and bought a few birthday cards (now no decent card shop in Peterborough ) and a couple of presents and treated myself to a lovely new blouse . It's my birthday tomorrow so a birthday present to myself . Also bought some lovely fresh fruit and veg from their nice stall in the high street. We then had a snack lunch in the cafe where my god -daughter's son is the chef (Frothy Coffee in Ironmonger Street if anyone is in the area). Today my best friend whose husband died just before Christmas came over with my present as she has an appt tomorrow so cannot come then. This is a red letter day as she has been a recluse since she lost her husband. It was so good to see her.
Gosh Bakers2 what a waste of space!! I wonder what has gone wrong? So glad you have the insulation of your en suite sorted and the garden landscaping is coming along. I think the weather forecast for the next week is dry so that should help. So glad you got your debit card back nellie. There are some really kind people around. Good to hear that Goldie's OH is making good progress. Also good to hear that you are now able to get out for some walks WN. As my Dad always used to say 'slow and steady wins the race'.
