Am I an outdated fuddy duddy?

I tend to agree John. There is a section of society who feel 'entitled' to say or do as they please. I don't know whats caused it, but I think that social media encourages it. Its what 'entitles' a football 'fan' to kick the oppositions goalkeeper, just because his team lost.
Having said that, I see little or no evidence of it on CAMC sites. The only time I can recall someone walking over anothers pitch was at Grafham once. The people next to us were newbies, and had picked up their caravan that afternoon. Together with his other neighbour, we helped them pitch, showed them the safe way to attach the EHU etc. They were very tired from the journey (he hadn't towed before) and had pretty much forgotten everything from the handover (we've all been there!)
When he went to fetch water, he walked over the pitch opposite, and I just remined him of the accepted etiquette. All thats needed is a polite word of advice in these situations, and I have found that caravanners (and motorhomers) are happy to help (like the time when I dropped our caravan on its nose when I over wound the jockey wheel!)

Ok, I sort of accept what you are thinking, but everyone staying, and particularly anyone who might not have stayed before, will get a copy of the Site leaflet.
I don’t happen to think it’s got much to do with rules or such to be honest. I just think it’s the way some folks simply live their lives. Mainly about doing what is best for themselves, and either lacking a degree of empathy for others around them, or simply not caring.
I don’t think there are many non Members found on Club Sites to be honest, certainly not in our decades of visiting, perhaps one or two on Affiliated Sites.
Agree with Tinny, it’s more about empathy and awareness, and this isn’t confined to any particular age group, Membership status, etc…….

+1 TDA👍🏻. PJMEG-no one berates or attacks anyone but everyone can & do disagree at times. It’s good to disagree & it’s good to continue a line of interaction. At the end we all move on. It’s best to keep the points salient & with respect or it leads to threads being locked. Some folk disagree with force & others make their points falteringly.

There are people who don’t actually think about what they are doing and people who just don’t care. This subject has been discussed many times before and I have mentioned before about the woman who constantly squeezed herself along past our tourer and the hedge to get to the facility block, when she only had to take a few more steps to the path, that was until OH rigged up our electric cable to block her path. On our static site when our neighbour challenged someone for walking over his pitch/garden they said he didn’t own the pitch, our neighbour told him he rented it and how much he paid for it in ground rent each year. We did have someone stroll across our pitch right past me while I was sitting out, they were told in no uncertain terms. However one chap, when taking a short cut and challenged did apologise and he clearly hadn’t even considered what he was doing. Not everyone minds and often they think no one else minds.
