Fullly serviced pitches

We have also stayed at South Lytchett Manor and thought it a nice site, very similar in fact in quality to most CMC sites. We didn't have a serviced pitch and found that service points for waste water and chemical disposal quite a way from our pitch. Handy bus outside site entrance to Poole in one direction and Swanage in the other. I don't know if they still do it but we were given a voucher for a free bottle of wine if we had a meal at the, walkable, local pub.

Because it's a win win win win on the points scoring board and some people like to prove how the grass is always greener. It does get a bit boring though.

I too find it puzzling. I think it may go back to a post once made by BB that club sites are only full because people don't know there's better out there and we have to educated and pointed in the right direction as we keep on making such dreadful mistakes in choosing a club site over what is clearly judged to be better, or as good, and cheaper sites. I can't think of any other reason?
Let everyone choose, I've always said club sites are better for me, but clearly I'm mistaken?

There is always cheaper, but does that mean better? There are cheaper caravans than mine, but more expensive too. The same goes for motorhomes, houses, cars and anything else that you can throw money at. Should someone be criticised for buying a Mercedes over Seat? After all, they both get you from A to B
The key point of your argument is 'better for me' and the same goes for everyone else in their choices of what they buy. Its a shame that others can't share their experiences and preferences in a constructive way rather than turning it into 'mines bigger than yours'

I'm quite happy for folk to recommend non club sites they've visited and enjoyed. What I do find curious is the "keep it to myself" stance some adopt. If sites are good let others have the advantage of knowing about them too - that's what the "small private sites" thread has been so good at. I still add sites to it when we see one that looks good even though we won't, of course, want to make use of them ourselves.

Sadly, it’s been going on for years, TimboC. If anything, decrying others' choices as being inferior is getting more prevalent.
We should all be allowed to exercise personal choice without being criticised for it and one person's personal preference can’t be regarded as being the right way to do it. We’re all different in our ways and outlooks - thankfully.

Where is the defense David? And about what?
Myself and TimboC are saying everyone should just choose what is best for them? How is that defensive?

Don't think anyone is 'slagging off' club sites, I've merely mentioned prices.
its not my problem if the club prices are as expensive for two as they are for a family with two small children.🤷🏻♂️
when others quote 'this includes dogs, kids, awnings etc'....it's not of interest to me, so i can only compare prices for two people at commercial sites (which is obviously 'not fair' as they charge for kids, dogs, awnings etc)...
surely 'slagging off' would be 'the showers are rubbish' or 'the pitches slope too much' or even 'the booking system is crap'....surely the most popular 'slagging off' the club is getting on this forum at the moment?
we certainly 'do our own thing' and are happy y to share experiences which, I'm sure, you are too😀

There it is again
its not my problem if the club prices are as expensive for two as they are for a family with two small children.🤷🏻♂️
Why does that even need to be said? No, its not your 'problem' or anyone elses for that matter. Its fact, and people make their choices accordingly

its not my problem if the club prices are as expensive....
No it is not but why are you the judge, as you often state, of what is expensive and what is not, or what is on the silly scale. You are criticizing (aka slagging off in your words there) club prices and doing so as a fact not your opinion. They are expensive to you not it sees others.
And it I would say is fair to compare those things which are free on club sites but charged for on these sites you mention, and I gave you both prices for a couple and for families so you can't really complain on that.
Yes you do your own thing and share experiences but you cannot deny you have refused to name sites on here, saying you'll only name them to your friends? Is that helpful?

"Slagging off" could also be saying the site roads are a race track layout, the MHSPs are in the wrong place, the pitches are small, check in should be automated, EHU should be optional…. I could go on but I’m sure you’ll recall saying all those things and more.

Tim, I'm sure you'll realise that it was the Op who raised the subject of price comparisons between the site he had booked and the nearest club competition.
for some it's better, for others not....
personally, I don't believe the club offers 'good enough' value for us...obviously not your point of view...nothing wrong with that...that's choice isn't it?
1 -
It's certainly helpful to my friends👍

Folk are using the clubs pricing system (awnings, dogs, young kids included) as a defensive argument...
Ive just posted the flip side of the coin, couples pay as much as a family of four with two young children, which obviously you don't seem to like🤷🏻♂️
I don't make the pricing rules...they're different for each organisation, so choose what you want...
1 -
Yes and I also post on the Warburton's forum to let them know this.

...'good enough' value for us...
Is that your new stance, if so brilliant, it's a change from club sites being too expensive or on the silly scale or prices are uncomfortable, or better sites out there and all those labels you give to club sites users?

They are in line with YT's earlier post when he gave examples of "slagging off".
I do indeed have my own issues with CAMC but I don’t bang on about them ad nauseam or drag them into almost every thread I contribute to. People don’t want to keep reading the same old thing.
2 -
But some might say it's constructive criticism based on wide ranging experience of all types of sites (both clubs, commercials, CL and THS) across the UK and Europe.
2 -
RE Your last sentence. They certainly don't TW, as I said earlier it's gets boring, there's really no need to keep banging on.
Now, warburtons crumpets with loads of Marmite, that's worth repeating

And some may very well say it’s a concerted effort to criticise CAMC as often as possible and to provide an avenue for dragging overseas issues into UK centred threads. 🤔

I don't know who you are referring to but this folk did nothing of the sort. I gave you a couple price and a price for those things that are usually free on club sites or are charged less (like children being children till they are 18), these are valid points and should be known if someone is considering going there, do you wish me to repost exactly what I said?
Also you miss off the T&C of this site, £50 non refundable deposit, pay upfront at 28 days, credit note if they cancel? Are you happy with these?
These are facts not a defensive argument.
Also why is someone posting something labelled as defensive, is that to ridicule or make the points they make less in some way. Can you not accept it as being their point of view?
And again with posting which obviously you don't seem to like🤷🏻♂️
Why post that with the shrug emoji? is that there to devalue what TimboC says?
In fact TimBoc did nothing of the sort he merely answered your post.
