Isn't this getting a bit boring now?

They don’t nor do they see taking life as something to boast about it’s their job, kill or be killed. In an odd way no matter who their adversary is they afford them respect regardless of whether it is reciprocated or not. It’s pure professionalism, the way they have been trained & their personal duty & discipline. The every day grunt is far away from a trophy boy who is allotted close order protection & tracking. Let’s not get into the fantasy of ‘he was one of the boys’🤷🏻♂️

He was born into a privileged position, has lead a privileged life.
The fact that he is smarting over not being the heir to the throne is beyond childish. So he was the spare get over it. Its not the case now, he has a beautiful wife and children. Plenty of money, most folk would give their eye teeth for such a life style.
Born into the position he was he would have been coached all his younger days as to how things work in the firm. While he was young there wasn't much he could do about things he didn't like. He is supposedly a grown up now. If he objects so much about they way things are then walk away but do it with dignity and grace, do not lash out at at those you profess to love and want to have back in your life. What a strange way of making things different. He should know by now they will close ranks and shut him out.
I can over look some of the things his wife has said and done but not forget or forgive. She was not born to it, she did not take time to learn about what she was getting into unlike her SIL.
Surely some of the blame for that can be laid at his door, he knew what it would be like and yet did not take the time, as advised by his brother for her to learn about how it works.
Its strange but IMO she is lapping up all the attention while claiming to want to be private. They have caused all the media stir, if they had wanted to be truly private they could have been. One only has to look at some of the other royals, how they go quietly about their lives not seeking attention but getting on with the job.

"However, at the heart of the tragedy is the greed and attitude of the press and the media who rub their hands in glee as seemingly countess willing folk show a morbid interest in the antics of the main protagonists in this story."
Whilst I agree that the press and media have revelled in this nonsense, micky, it is more than noticeable how the pair of them are quite happy to use the press and media when it suits them whilst at the same time professing a wish for privacy. It's a situation entirely of their own making.

I suspect that he may well have been advised against many of the claims he makes; there is no way we will ever know. But at the end of the day he must have made that decision; he could easily have avoided mentioning it in the terms he apparently did during the interview.
However, Paul Merton & his OH were on CT motorhoming in the Cotswolds at the time which was very entertaining and informative - I mean, I never realised it was possible to do without EHU for a night!

It’s still of their own making, PD. Nobody twisted their arms.

Easilly said when it is not you involved. The first driving force was probably money, the second was definitely driven by the tabloids. He still has three outstanding cases against the press who he clearly dislikes for what a nd how they they print a story.

No, it’s easy to act in a moral way, PD, and your last sentence sums up the double standards at play.

But We're not talking about someone who had no money and no job to start with. As posted somewhere upthread he was left a vast sum of money (£30m was it?).
He had a 'job' and decided to leave it and wanted to live independently for reasons valid to him. He then acted immorally by selling family stories to make money.
Are the tabloids funding this book of his?

I have not watched any of the Netfilix programs or Opra or bothered keeping up with the papers which I don't read but I did watch the interview with Tom Brady on catch up this morning. I have a lot of sympathy for his views on the press and his need to defend himself but as to what goes on between him and the family, who knows what is the truth and there certainly was no need for revelations or to go into print about it.

Unfortunately we can't choose our parents so we can't walk in the shoes of those who've had such a public upbringing with higher than most expectations. Let's hope the press and media step away soon. I've only seen the snippets on the news and the BBC web site although I read the first "ghosted" book about the move abroad and there really is a non stop publicity machine at work. Here's to a peaceful ending. 🌼

I’m sure you are right, M but I think they really believed that this was the only available means of reply. The press offered no support or advice but that’s not their business is it, money is. I’d go as far as to say they, the media, actively encouraged and engineered much of the fiasco.

Yes, I saw that too. It says a lot.
I watched Jack Ryan save us from WWlll. It was much more believable than the Harry interview🤣🤣🤣
