Overnight stays in Spain
We are staying at the Alannia Costa Blanca site in Spain (booked through the club) in January and February, travelling from Santander. We're booked two overnight stays on the way down (near Madrid and Albacete) but I'm having trouble finding two sites open for the return to Santander on February 21. Has anyone any advice? Is Alannia to Zaragosa (stopping there at Lago resort) and then to Burgos (staying at De Haro) a recommended route? Thanks.

Zaragoza toSantander is 250 miles straight up the motorway and can be done in one day, but if you want to split it then Camping de Haro is about the halfway point. But it’s not at Burgos. It’s at Haro.

Alannia to Zaragoza is over 300 miles and I get the impression you do not like long hauls? If I am right you might want to consider stopping of at >CampingSierra Calderona< which is open all year. I have not stopped there myself, I think I was put off by reports of small pitch size and not suitable for large outfits. I prefer to stop at >Kiko Park< which is on the beach just outside Oliva. That would give about a 100 mile trip to Kiko Park leaving about 250 miles to the municiple site in Zaragosa.

If you are in a motorhome there is free parking in Burgos[n42.35012 w3.68068] with a large Alcampo supermarket nearby. The parking area only has rubbish skips. If you want a place to lay up overnight before going to the ferry quay in Santander you could try Cabárceno [n43.35824 w3.8191], it is only 16 miles from the ferry and has the Cabárceno Wild Life Park adjacent with elephants and other animals wandering around - behind fences I should add!
