Camping Le Paradis - - New owners
As the title says this campsite now has new owners, Jon & Berni. We met them yesterday on an aire close by to the site.
They will take over and reopen the site on 16th December 2022. They will be open all year.
The are happy for me to share their details
Camping Le Paradis, 2 Route de Mareuil MAZIERES, 16270 Terres-de-Haute-Charente.

...and a terrific looking site too, thanks also.👍
just to add, it's in ACSI at €20 a night. Potential destination site, perhaps?

Camping Le Paradis?, very nice indeed👍🏻, it puts me in mind of 2 similar sites between Scarborough & Whitby. A good shout out TG, thanks.

New owners, as TG has helpfully said,, but I think that the site has been there a long time with previous British owners. It was always open in winter as far back as I remember but got little mention because it’s not on an obvious N - S route. Did they do much longer stay business in summer?
We regularly visited British friends who went to live nearby and tried to earn a bit of money from two holiday gites - but they were in sunflower and sweetcorn agricultural territory with few tourist attractions - and so they found that few customers came. Location, location, location.
So I hope the new campsite owners make a success of it- their new offer of affordable caravan storage might well be a money spinner for them, and this publicity on here from TG might help. Good luck to them.

ET, yes it was previously owned by a Brit couple.
The new owners are MH owners and have been for a longtime, they know what folk want from a site so I would think they have a few ideas of how to build it up.
We met them after they had spent sometime travelling in Spain and Portugal waiting for the handover. They first checked it out last September so its been ongoing since then.
As David said its in a good place for Caen and St Malo crossings. We've stopped a couple of times in that area always at different sites so I would say we will use it at some point.

Just be aware, it's 7h driving from Ouistreham, so at least 8hrs elapse time including just two half hour stops..probably just out of range in a day for those using Cherbourg.
also, ferry arrival times will have a real bearing on whether an overnighter is required.

AD, if you need a site which is open all year and 250 miles from Ouistreham ferry port then there is Camping les Rulieres at Saint Valerien Better still it’s only 180 miles from St Malo ferryport..
