Do you always need to unhitch the caravan at a charging point, if so does the possible lack of caravan parking availability create stress ( in addition to range anxiety)
Every tower realises that it is not always possible to find space for an outfit at a service area, nevermind when trying to use an recharging point.

As of yet, I have not found a location where “hitched up charging” is possible, but they do exist. The Andrew Ditton YouTube clip linked from the original post shows a few locations like that, so charging stop designers do have them in mind.
Thats said, so far, I have not had any problem finding somewhere to leave the caravan while we charge. The carpark locations usually have some sort of space that works for a caravan just fine.

About the same price as the Polestar 3.
It’s a ridiculous amount of money for a car. Having said that, I thought 55k was a ridiculous amount if money for a Polestar 2 (and somehow I have one), and 35k was a ridiculous amount of money for a fiat 500, yet I have one on order.
Meanwhile, 35p is a ridiculous amount for 1KWh of electricity, £1.95 for a litre of diesel, £2 for a block or butter and £7 for a pint of beer. The world has indeed gone mad…

Would you believe a brand new Ford fiesta starts at 19,995 and goes up to over 28k?
The fiat 500E convertible I am getting is pretty much the maxed out spec. There are much lower price ones available, but even so. New stuff is very expensive at the moment…
What is possibly more crazy is the car we ordered in May (actually 34k, not 35) is now 38k to order! 10% increase in 6 months.

It must just be me then. I don't struggle money wise but I'd not pay that kind of money for a small Eurobox what ever badge was on it. I've had my 14 plate ML350 for 3 & half years & paid £26000 for it from a main dealer. I could have bought a cheaper ML350 but this one is well spec'd.

All fair enough. Horses for courses. We bought our 08 plate XC90 from a main dealer 9 month old for £32k and ran it until Feb 21 when we sold it for 5k. The v60 was a 66 plate, about 32k in aug 17, sold this May for 18k. A new XC90 same spec today would be about £65k. A new V60, same spec, probably about the same. Usually we buy cars 2nd hand, a year old from a main dealer. Right now used cars are going for the same price as new ones, and new we could get 4 years 0% finance with a £1k deposit contribution. We wanted the Fiat EV, so it was a no brainier. Others want different cars - life’s rich tapestry:-)

I've got a new diesel on order thats coming in March. I looked all the UK for nearly new with the same spec, but the nearest I could find was nearly £3k more expensive, and didn't have a towbar. I got a deal via CarWow, and was astonished at the saving. I was even able to negotiate a little more off from the winning bidder.
Going diesel is the right choice for me right now, and I'll keep this car for at least 10 years

before we purchased our XC90 in July i was looking at the new Kia Sorento, used prices were higher than new (but you couldent get new one!) Our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe cost £28k after employee discount, a new 2.2 diesel SF now costing around £44k.

I have read two snippets of news ref EVs today
1,it seems dogs are more relaxed when travelling in Bevs than deisel vehicles less noise possibly
2, Switzerland will ban EVs from charging unless required for essential journies if they have electricity power shortages

Agree. If I were look for a vehicle specifically for towing, that probably would not be it. But if I was occasionally towing a small trailer or small caravan, and this was an option on a company car list, it might work.
I would be looking at a Kia or Hyundai though.0
