Snagging list for new booking system

Customer service websites should be easily managed by anyone with even the basic computer skills, the new obviously wasn't tested its a disaster for the club, using work arounds to make the system work is not sorting the system out and does not make it a working system as the original was, there can be no excuses for it, I dont know how much the club were loosing in no shows an short notice cancellation but I would imagine this shambles is going to cost dearly looking at comments on CT and other platforms.

Form sent regarding late availability page. If it works well why change things.

That’s ok if you know the name of the CL, what was wrong with them on the listing like before. So instead of one click to read reviews we now have multiple clicks

Evening
I agree it would be good if this thread is kept for the real snagging issues people are experiencing rather than having a moan. Keep that to the other moaning threads then we all might get someone from head office to look at the points raised seriously rather than dismiss as yet another bashing thread. Just my opinion of course.

Yesterday tried to amend a booking for 23 days hence by bringing it forward a week. System wanted to charge me a cancellation charge despite being over the required 21 days. Phoned up - Emily at head office found the same thing. Only way she could sort it was cancel the first booking (refund of deposit promised), and then make new booking (with new £25 deposit required). Thank you for your patience Emily.
And later I added an extra day to my new booking (hadn't been available earlier), no extra deposit required, but zero not acceptable (as previously reported) so again entered £1 and my credit card details again and it worked. Maybe next time I should just add £0.01

It would be a lot better if the snagging list was instigated by a member of the I.T. department so we can list faults and omissions (as we see it) and (of the difficulties of use) of the booking system.
The I.T. department could/must then take note and fix the system and then update members what they have done and also list the fixes they have implemented, and which problems are still pending.
No deviation from the fault listings by members. No arguing between members, just keep it simple and list our findings and requirements for the system to work.
Come on I.T. let's get something in place. Tell us how to get the best out of this system.

Tried to search for a CL in Kent / East Sussex today. Applied filters Ok. Used drop down to sort by price. Open up each of the possibles and there is no price either on the map view or the more detailed version opened up from left of screen. How does this system sort by price when price has no visibility? It's a basic !! Ridiculous

I think it’ll go the same way, Wedgy, and only succeed in adding yet another thread to the melee. You tried but if you’re not getting backing from above…..🤷🏻♂️

You can use the booking experience area and send in fault finding via that route direct to the club. There was a link earlier in the thread. I've found it useful seeing what faults or missing items have been spotted on here and how they are being resolved, this is sometimes a quicker route if you need to crack on with bookings and find a work around etc. The site has improved a lot but there are still adjustments needed.

Well, there you go then. It should work as it is👍🏻.
It might help if this thread was made a sticky, perhaps🤷🏻♂️

It doesn't look as though CLs will be fully integrated into the new booking system for quite some time although the details say that is the intention. The best way to find CLs is still via the general website campsite search not the booking search. Got this info via the updated booking experience area.

Brue, when I try to go through the general website campsite search for CLs all I get is the stupid booking page with a map which is so clunky and slow it is impossible to navigate. That's using my kindle and the CC's app on my i-phone.

Nellie. I'm having trouble adjusting to my new Chromebook laptop but if I go into Find a Uk Campsite and click on CLs then "Choose where to stay" I can find the CLs but if I press "search" this bit this takes me to the booking pages which I don't need until the CL searches are up and running 100%.
Can't establish links at the moment, steep learning curve!

If I select "choose where to stay" it comes up with England, Wales etc and selecting one of those give the counties in alphabetical order, so not a proper search facility as one needs to know the county and town and work from there. It's really rubbish compared to the old system which had filters etc. I feel sorry for both the newer members who might not be savvy on locations etc and CL owners who will no doubt be losiing customers, and this will obviously result in yet higher prices as they try to cover costs with less visitors. What a ba**s up!!

Same here nellie; I agree with you. To have to go through each county (and going by CAMC listings of some towns/villages, they aren't even in the right county anyway or under a town which isn't logical sometimes) then click on town/village, then have to click on each CL to see what facilities it has etc, is laborious to say the least, and hardly efficient. I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable on the geography of the UK, but that is by no means sufficient to navigate this new-fangled system. It's a serious shortcoming of the new system and that's putting it mildly.

I don't know whether last night's essential maintenance has anything to do with it, but I've tried to post a reply 3 times now (28/9/22 at 07.58) but it hasn't appeared, Trying again, post below:

The problem with that idea is they would have to communicate with there members, and it appears that communication is not their strong point, only messages i have seen appear to be a standard pre set reply, " It's not as planned" . Nothing to say what fixes they are doing or tried and asking for feedback on them fixes.

It is really hard to understand why some are having so much difficulty searching for CLs. I can only think your internet connections are very poor or your hardware is not up to the job.
Find a UK campsite > book a campsite > click on Show Certicicated Locations > enter a location (e.g. a county) > click search > read list produced or check CL positions on the map. zoom in to narrow search, zoom out to widen or click and drag map to another area. Finally click on the CL of interest to bring up detail
What is so difficult once you have narrowed your choice down other than obtaining directions and price?
I am having no problem using the above method on my Windows desktop using Firefox desktop.

It could well be device related Peedee, on my Android 12 smart phone I get a limited list of county CLs I can't see a map in portrait mode I have to turn it to landscape to reveal more. I preferred the previous system via county then town lists (although badly formatted) the new way is awkward and clunky. So I agree with Ina and Nellie.
