Excuse for a week site

When you use the "Book a campsite" page to search for a CL either using the map or the search boxes and you bring up a CL, has anyone found out how you can then move to the detail about the CL i.e.directions, reviews etc. Its eluding me.

YT, you have to drill down from Find a UK campsite > Certificated Locations > Select a country > select a county > select a town and that should give you a list, all very laborious. It badly needs a link from the summary brought up by the search facility to the site detail.

That’s the method we are using PD. Time consuming in terms of all the clicks, and you do need to have a basic geographical knowledge of UK to a certain extent, but it gets you the information you need.

Has anyone had any joy with using the "new" app to search for a CL, as it doesn't creek to be working for me.

It’s useless Nellie for CLs. Takes you straight to the new booking page, and that’s where the problems start.
Easiest via website…. Avoid the book button at all times.
Find a UK Campsite
Scroll down to Countries, click on a Country
Choose a County
Choose a Town
Choose a CL
Try and avoid that book button at all times. It’s the only way to see the prices. There isn’t a price filter on the booking page, although I think the map might show them. But the map is 🤬🤬 doesn’t work properly.
SearchforSites is just so much better.
Bad news here is I think I have accidentally thrown out our Handbook😬🫣

Nellie I asked the help box "How do I find the directions to a site" here is what it came up with:
We've published directions to each of our Club Sites with towing in mind. If you're trying to avoid those tricky routes please use the directions printed in your Sites Directory and Handbook, or online by following the guide below:
To search for a particular site's information page, click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page. Then, scroll down to the site's pricing table. You should see some tabs starting with 'Prices' and 'Nearby'. Click on the tab for 'Map' to find both the map and written directions, as well as some other handy details including nearby transport links.
You can now also check our Before You Travel page for any nearby roadworks or diversions before you set off!
I don't quite follow the highlighted bit but I think what is is saying is search for the site by name and then scroll down????
This is possibly the easiest way and it does work for CLs and Club sites

Aye they can😁 Trouble is, you have to negotiate the maze to get to them, via a few dead ends and that Club speciality……Internal Error!🤣

But will any new CLs be added to the main web site or just the new booking one?
I just keep open a previously viewed CL, and work backwards to country or county, and the town which lists the CLs at that location. From there selecting a site I then look at others featured as close by, until I find what I am looking for.

Have done it your way, tda, but it does require a good knowledge of geography, and then one cannot filter for things like dogs allowed, or open all year, or even EHU available, so one has to trawl through each of the site's listed, or those in close proximity, to find what one is searching for. The site and map, as it is, is utter tosh!
Glad that I have kept my SD up to date so at least most of the new CLs are in there be it by location, name and basic facilities.

Yes, it’s not good Nellie. We shall be back using SD when new one comes out, then phone or email CLs direct.

If you know the nearest town the best way is to Google as follows: CAMC then the town and another requirement such as hook-up or hardstanding.
This gives you an instant reponse. Do not bother going through the Caravan clun portalas iti slow and cumbersome.

But one should not have to go a secondary web site to search for sites that are part of the club's network, surely all should be available as was the case with the old syatem.

CAMC sent me an email saying that there is an orange button to click through to see the CAMC page for reviews - there isn't. The picture also shows prices - not on mine! And there is a QR code - again, not on mine!
I'd really like this to work, and I would have really appreciated a search facility to show sites with serviced pitches. I gave up with Camping & Caravanning Club due to their website being so poor, and sadly this new website has followed suit!
Please sort it out.

OMG the new search page is simply pants... sorry I cant find any better words to describe it

SusssexStorm, below is a link to the discussion regarding CLs with serviced pitches, and within that is a link, on page 19, to a table of such drawn up by one of the members, DJBut. Hope this helps.

You may be assuming the 'orange button' is on the Club Website. I think you'll find the orange button you refer to that leads to reviews is on one of the alternative websites that lists CL sites, not the club website. I'm sorry not to be more helpful.
