Excuse for a week site

I feel very sorry for all those CL owners and those that have wanted to look for and book a CL. The "Essential Maintenance" has been in effect for over 24 hrs and I wonder in that time now many prospective CL clients have given up the idea of booking a CL and have found alternative sites? It would not be so bad had we, as customers, had been informed of the down time but just to shut down the site is treating us and CL owners with no respect. I have not yet tried to access the CL section and hopefully it will be accessible whereas the club bookIng site has  huge queue at the moment. The very worst website I have experienced.

In two minds not to renew my membership at the end of the month

I would be embarrassed to say I work for this club the way they treat members

Spent nearly two hours in the "queue" this afternoon. First attempt, got in after forty five minutes, made first booking for two nights and tried to make further booking for an additional two nights at another site which certainly had availability, but the system became extremely clunky and logged me out!! Re-joined queue at 15:27 and system said I would have to wait sixteen minutes. One hour and fifteen minutes later I got to the front of the queue only to find I could not make a further booking. System didn't say if the site was fully booked as it used to, so I was left in the dark. If I cant make a suitable further booking I would like to cancel but now, of course, I will lose my deposit for the first booking.

Is this how its going to be from now on ??? Whilst the old booking system wasn't always perfect it did at least work. Perhaps the old saying, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" would be applicable.

Nellie and others, if the site stays live the CL section is  now working OK and of course the booking system isn't needed as CLs are booked via their owners. If all else fails use the sites directory.

Just tried to access the C.L. section Brue. Got put in a booking queue!!! No access to C.L.s.

In answer to EuroT's post, how do I get access to the various sites reviews that I wanted to look at that help me decide which site to then telephone?

Don't access it from the main booking site. Use other routes. I looked in via the home page, eg the one accessed top right, green box with three white lines and scroll down, everything worked well.

Actually Brue I went in from C.L. page but by county.

DON'T PRESS search and BOOK button.!! Seems to have been programmed to think Booking refers to CAMC sites. Poor web design that can't differentiate between these. Needs sorting for the sake of the C.L. owners more so than us lot.

ps I'm looking in on a MacBook Air - isn't configured the same way you advised.

What about all those new CLs that have come on line since the SD came out, and those that have closed too. The old map is so out of date and falling apart from regular use, so no good going there. I do regularly try and update the SD but there is only so much info one can write because of lack of room, and phone numbers take up too much space.

Don't have that green box with the white lines on my kindle, brue. Any more suggestions? Tried using Search for a Site listing and ended up in a queue again. The app is still spinning from trying to access access it last night. What a pig's ear of a site, a complete farce!!

Thanks brue, just don't click on the Search and Book a CL banner as you will be joining a queue.

It’s a complete shambles, unless you know how to circumnavigate some of the problems with the site. I went in via the England-County-etc route. It’s a disgrace really, given that they now demand Membership payment from every potential new CL owner. They certainly aren’t getting much back.

I just tried to check a CL I’m travelling to today and whatever way I tried to access it via the club I ended up in the waiting queue.  CLs have never been part of the clubs booking system so why now.

Oneputt, you need to access a different way to get website to work. Don’t click on the red “book a CL” box, but scroll down, and click on a country, England, Wales, Etc….. This then gets you into Counties, then towns, then list of CLs. Frustrating having to do it this way, but at least it’s a way in not linked to the booking system. Hope this helps👍

Party and Brewery spring to mind☹️

Maybe people don't want to carry a dirty great book around with them to get information which is supposed to be available on the website/app?

Once you've got past the queue system that is.

Yes, so glad to have the second string to the bow with CL Booking which is such an excellent set up. CAMC take note!

Clicked on the link which took me to CLs.
No facility to type in county.

No list of facilities on each CL eg hookups.

    No prices.

    No maps.

    No reviews.

    No thanks!

You are not trying very hard are you?

Use the link then, as explained by myself and Brue, you choose a Country then you choose a County then you choose a Town or place that would have them in your Site Directory book, then you click on a C.L. and you can see that C.L.s profile as normally displayed under the old style web site, with reviews and prices and map etc. If you don't like that one then press the go back button until you see other C.L.s or use the facility at the bottom of the C.L. that you are looking at where it says Sites Nearby and click on one of those.

Yes, it's true you can't use the facility to restrict what C.L.s you see (such as EHU/Adults only etc.) but at the moment beggars can't be choosers.

So you can get Prices, Maps and Reviews just no facilities button.

You can also use the Searchforsites web page, which will show you both CLs and CS sites, as well as smaller commercial sites, as well as others. Easy to navigate too.

I liked the old app, it was excellent for finding CLs with the facilities we wanted, the new app is hopeless for CLs.

No search filters, and when you go to look at a particular CL, no prices, no info on pitch surface, no mention of EHU, and  very little detail.

There also apparently are 0 pitches , max length of outfit is also 0m, and all are open to non members now, as noted elsewhere by JVB.

Screen display is poor on my i pad, with lots of overlapping.

Yes, the main website still has the info on the above for each CL, but no  search filters.   I also find, as a foreigner, searching by county and then town tricky.........especially in Wales.  I like a map.

I agree about having a map.  We are the same in parts of Scotland and Wales.  Saying Argyll, means nothing unless I see where it is.  Some areas we can make a stab at and sister lives in Fife but no idea of some other parts.

Kjell, revert to the map function on the Searchforsites web site. Their map give so much more than that given by the old CC system. Here's the link.
