Ha, I do now...we are going shopping after 14 days away....I can see it's a pain for those who wish to book in advance, I really can't see why the club can't respond...

Received this email this afternoon at 15:39 (slightly edited)
Dear Mr Cornersteady
Existing bookings will shortly be moved over to our new booking system
As you may know, we’ve been busy looking at how we can make it easier for everyone to plan and book UK holidays with us online. We’re pleased to advise that your new online UK booking experience is launching very soon, which includes the introduction of deposits and the ability to pre-book specific pitch types.
To ensure a seamless transition, any existing UK Club campsite bookings will be automatically moved over to our new booking system in a few days' time. Rest assured, any existing bookings remain confirmed and all details will stay the same with existing booking terms and conditions being applicable and no deposit required (payment will be due on arrival at the site).
However, if you wish to make changes to an existing booking after it has been moved over, there is some important information we’d like to share.
Please read our frequently asked questions for full details0 -
Also received it at 15:39. It’s very similar to the one I received about a month ago. Presumably they are going to have another go at launching the new booking system. If the speed this site has been running at today is anything to go by, it doesn’t stand a chance of getting off the ground

I got the same email 5 hrs ago so I guess they have sent it out to those with booking at roughly the same time

Yes indeed Steve

We have a booking from this Sunday and have yet as usual not received either any emails about the new system or texts to advise of the 1300 earliest arrival times
Although I have contacted the club and the lady I was talking to said a reset of my details she had done should sort it out?

There are definite comparisons, ‘it could be weeks or months whilst we test’ & ‘we’re not fully sure what the issue is’. A direct difference atwixt NASA & C&MC is putting out info where folk can see it not squirrelling it away in the NASA FB page open only to friends of NASA👍🏻

Maybe like me you will get it after you arrive. We arrived at a site on the Sunday and the text arrived on the following Thursday. Now it could be that it refers to my next arrival on a Club site which is next Wednesday, or perhaps the site I am staying on in October? Still no mention of the possibility of being turned away from the site if you arrive early. Neither do the regular emails. Strangely there are notices in the toilet blocks telling you that if you arrive early you could be turned away. Whilst I am still of the opinion that turning people away, specially if only 10/15 minutes early is somewhat draconian if that is to be the policy surely the Club are duty bound to mention the fact that you will be turned away in all communications about bookings with members? I think, if known in advance, it would rather concentrate the mind and it would be honest.

DK, might it be that there are some sites where you will be turned away, some where you might perhaps be turned away, and some where you will be allowed to wait - so they can’t send out a “one size fits all” e mail?

No it's there are some selfish members who wish to arrive arrive and the club can't know who's going to be selfish and silly and who isn't? They just assume people will abide with the rules they have agreed to

Calling members selfish and silly isn't helpful. It's most unusual to have an arrival time where people are asked to arrive after it! If the club wants to promote a friendly welcoming business this is actually the "silly" bit.
I quite agree with DavidK that everyone should be politely informed about being turned away in these circumstances.
This isn't an early arrivals thread and I hope the new booking system works well and reduces some of the problems that might have caused a few to arrive very early eg a chosen pitch type will now be available.

Firstly Brue I did not call members anything, let that be cleared up straight away. Only those 'some' the few that arrive early and while I actually wasn't the first to use that description, I do stand by it fully.
These people who arrive early are selfish, they care not for the vast majority of others who abide by the set arrival time of after 1pm, they care not for the possible problems and possible confrontations for the wardens, locals, and others just because they want to arrive early. They only care for themselves and if that isn't the definition of selfish I don't know what is? It is not an insult, it is not being personal, it is the truth in my view. And why is it not helpful? It is so simple do not arrive early.
The last review/thread clearly showed someone who knew they would be arriving early yet carried on, was that un-selfish? Was that not silly?
Unusual or not it is arrive after one, that is what the rules are, people still arrived early when it was 1pm. If one doesn't like that then we're told there are many sites that have different arrival times.
Pitch type doesn't really come into either in my experience, I've seen early arrivals on sites that are all HS.
You are correct this isn't an early arrival thread so I'll leave this one here but I stand by my posts.

I think the alleged comments issue has been sorted out, Brue, which is more than can be said for the booking system, apparently.

Who knows as there seems to be no published confirmation of Club policy on this matter. Even on the notice I saw on site only said "may" be asked to leave. It was also not on official Club notepaper. So perhaps the policy is not network wide although it seems strange that it is being enacted on sites which apparently have quite large waiting areas.

DK. Outside a site this year where there was just a handwritten notice, it asked peple to go to a car park nearby, followed by "thankyou for your patients" I wondered if they were helping out the NHS? Yes official notices should have been provided if it is "official?"
Tomorrow is another day, hope we see improvements.

My booking said Arrival 12.00 to 14.00. 6 outfits turned up at 12.30 to 12.45 all were told to go away. Is not good enough, I did not turn up early, the Club changed it and didn't let anybody know!
New website. Not user friendly, too much information require ie. wife's name, car make, length and width. two hours to get on. Get it sorted please.

Just on the matter of arrival times - we made a rare visit to a Club site a couple of months ago.
Arrived at 11.30 am, there were a couple of outfits already in the queue. The staff made us wait about 15 minutes, to make some sort of point. Then we went in and got pitched up in time for lunch - just as we like it.
Nobody was harmed by this. Nobody missed out on anything. But it was rather annoying to see some people leave late and thus deprive the new arrivals of their full choice of pitches, which was very rude. If people want to criticise or insult fellow members, perhaps they should re-direct their attention to those selfish people.
