Hi has anyone else encountered problems with warranty work from Elddis and how they resolved it. I have a flexible crack develop above passenger door and was told by service engineer that it was covered under warranty. Elddis refused this saying it was only covered for 1yr year of vehicle, which is now coming up to 3 years old. Despite the fact that Elddis constantly advertise 10 years body work cover and help or comments appreciated

Remember that a warranty never overrides your rights under the Consumer Rights Act which may well allow you to take action against the supplying retailer who is always responsible - that's dealer, not Elddis.

Why not have a word with the club's legal dept?

The 10 year warranty is for water ingress through a permanently sealed joint not through a cracked panel.

as has been said your consumer rights may very well cover you as an external panel would be expected to last more than 3 years. It is quite usual for said cracks to start where a screw has been driven home without a sufficient pilot hole being made, if this can be proven then you may have a claim against your supplying dealer.

    Hi,

sorry to hear Mojitoman57 that you have damp/water ingress.  We have the same with our Auto Trail Imala -see my post under Auto Trail Imala damp problems.  Our van was purchased in December 2018.

We got to the end of our tethers with trying to get it repaired under warranty and have been waiting nearly a year now for an appointment to get repairs carried out..  No reply from the manufacturer (dealership sold during pandemic) so we are going to have to go down the legal road.  Pity but there we are.  When you pay a lot for a vehicle and hope to get plenty of use from it without having to worry about damp and its effect on deterioration of interior aspect, it is not acceptable.

Have you managed to get anywhere with your claim?
