Yes, as I said upthread if any extra profit made in this way will result in more money for the club and for the benefit of us all in one way or another.

There is also it seems on some sites the shortage of site staff that seems is affecting revenue  as to cope with lack of staff on some sites the amount of pitches that can be booked has been reduced,  which may well account for some posters finding empty pitches when the site shows full ,surprised

And may well be  the club trying to boost revenues on all other sites🤔

That’s not very clever & won’t work, all it does is stop revenue from flowing. If I can’t book a site in Northumberland due to closed pitches I’ll book a private site in Northumberland not drive elsewhere looking for a C&MC site🤷🏻‍♂️. Since rejoining I’ve barely used any site due to the whole mess with buffering & closedowns of pages. I’m not willing to sit around waiting for the C&MC online site to finally wake up to take my money👎🏻

I'd be interested to know some of those sites jvb? I've not heard of reduced capacity on sites due to lack of staff, well not in my region anyway.

I do not think it is network wide and it may just be some areas with very busy sites and staff' shortages

I would have thought unless it is really bad ,that the staff that were due to run the sites that are closed for refurbishment could give temp cover

It seems to show that this year's intake were not enough or they realised it is not the job they thought it was

where we are now one set have been here for just one month

Not if my sources are likely to be compromised  and they have never failed yet  despite some posters attempts at derision 🤔

You don’t need to tell who your sources are, just which sites

I'm not being nosy jvb, I'm just interested of the fact you state sites are reducing pitch numbers due to staff shortages. I've spoken to several colleagues in the south west and no one has heard of it.

The sites that are closed for refurbs. still have staff on them, they play an important role in overseeing the works being done.

Just my opinion, but no one wants to work in Peterboroughwink

There. Are several large busy sites on the network that applies to not just the one 🤔

It seems with conversations "fings aint wot they used to be "with many of the membership now😋

Large sites- Looe in Cornwall, Hillhead at Brixham, Coniston in the lakes and Incleboro Fields in Norfolk, all large 200+ pitch sites but with no reduced pitch capacity.

I only ask because I'm interested.

I think the current price regime is possibly having an effect. Today I had an invite for Crossways as a "previous visitor". "Get away for less this summer with 3 nights for just £122.40".  £40.80 per night!!!  I know that includes a couple of kids ( cut price offer?) but as that famous tennis player said - "You cannot be serious, man". My current trip has averaged out at £11.55 over the nine nights to date. "Get away for less". They'll have to try a whole lot harder.

Have had 3 of those emails now in the last month, 2 of those referring to a site we visited years ago undecided the most recent one today was trying to tempt us to "Get away for less this summer with 3 nights for just £110.70^ and make new memories".  A bit cheaper than your Crossways at "just" £36.90.  That was for a standard pitch and 2 adults as explained at the bottom of the email.

I'm quite puzzled what "Get away for less" actually refers to.  Less than what?? Less than when??  Compared to what or when??  It's certainly not less than what I've paid before, as I've never paid anywhere near £30 for a site, let alone well over £35.

There cannot be many who have not had the email "offer."  Availability on many sites in peak has always been pretty good, that is down to the demographic of the Club. Have a look at late availability, the two regions I checked were showing pitches available at all but one site.

The most expensive SW site, Hillhead is busy as usual so is Steamer Quay, even without EHU. I expect the £17 all in sites are attracting plenty of visitors. Although there are vacancies I doubt sites are empty during the main season.

We have noticed it's a bit quieter in the SW this year generally but I think people are readjusting to rising prices at home, maybe going abroad more or having shorter breaks here and unfortunately still getting Covid.

For ourselves we've gone for cheap THS etc just for a change and more local stays too. However we're booked up for a favourite Devon site as soon as the B/H crowds leave.

Although this site. we are on has reduced the pitches available because of staff shortages it seems very quiet.even the visiting ice cream.van driver says it is so and not as many children as past years

I wonder apart from the cost of living this clubs Dash for Cash with the extra fuel charges on top of already high pricies it might be a case of shooting one self in the foot

This is the first year I think I have received these emails, inviting me back to sites I have previously stayed at. It seems odd that they invite me back to two sites in Scotland where we stayed earlier in the year when I live several hundred miles away? The one that took the biscuit was the New Forest Centenary site where we stayed last year for a few nights. The email invited me to stay for another three nights for £155.40 which works out at nearly £52 a night. As far as I am concerned that is a fairly ordinary site in the middle of nowhere and there is no guarantee of a hardstanding even at that price!

I expect many families and adults prefer coastal sites in the summer. I seem to recall FM is a popular weekend destination and will be quieter in the week?
