Stop over for Annecy

Hi. We are going to Annecy at the beginning of August with friends. Could anyone recommend a nice stopover site half way from Calais preferably with a nice pool for the kids for when we get there. We'd like to arrive there mid afternoon and only have a maximum of about 4 hours the next day to Annecy. Any help gratefully received. Many thanks.

Dijon might suit you, nice big site, walking distance into the town and a variety of watersports close by.

Helenbat, Are you actually staying overnight in Calais and leaving early in the morning from there.? That determines how far you will get that day. Otherwise you might only get as far as the Lac d’Orient site near Troyes, though leaves you a longer drive than you were hoping for on day two.

Hi, Calais to Annecy is over 500 miles so, as Euror says, will depend on what time you leave and how long you want to dive but, assuming that you can average 40 mph, including stops, that’s an 8-9 hour drive on day one to leave you with a 4 hour drive on day two.

Fitting in with that is Camping Du Lac de La Liez at Peigney. We have used it twice, and it has a pool, but that was some time ago.

Was at Lac de Liez a couple of weeks ago. Nice site with all the trimmings. €20 per night on ACSI although you won't get that in August.

Has anyone stayed at Camping Du Lac de la Vingeanne at Villegusien le Lac as night halt?
