Is it time to extend the quiet period to 8 am?
I like a good sleep but it would appear many of my fellow campers like to be out of their caravan or motorhome doors bang on 7 am usually with a loud clatter of the door as well.
Pulling and tugging and cursing at awnings as they decamp, finally to retreat back into their vans for a couple of hours before departure.
Would it be too much to ask for the quiet period to extend on site to 8am,.

I'm a late riser too but I honestly don't think 7am can be considered unduly early for folk to be up and about. When we share campsites in close proximity to others, we're bound to meet a variety of people with different ways. It's part of the joy of the hobby.
At the other end of the scale we've had people objecting to others talking in their awnings at 9pm.
You can't please all of the people.......

We can sleep through almost anything. We've often woken up and looked out at empty pitches next to us, that were occupied when we went to bed.
I don't think enforced silence is possible, or desirable, on a campsite (at either end of the day).

Is there actually a set 'quiet period' on CAMC sites? The rules don't actually state any set times, apart from running generators they just state to be considerate to others and after 10pm.
We get up to suit our day, sometimes (very) early sometimes not.
Back to the OP, what is quiet? And no as there is no need in my experience.

Yes, it is too much to ask. 7am is not very early especially if you have a long drive home ahead of you.

The other week that is exactly what I did when woken up at about 8.30 to the sound of the children next door playing in the school playground before school. I just turned over and wished the teachers a good day and thanked my lucky stars I was in bed.

It was possibly just someone desperate to get their awning in before the rain started🙂
I am usually more surprised just how quietly some folks arrive very late, and depart very early on some sites. We did once arrive solo at midnight, and get our van out of its storage space and onto a pitch at a CL in Cornwall, and that was with three dogs in tow as well. Everyone on other pitches said they hadn’t heard a thing.
I find the early morning wastemaster rumblers more irritating, as it’s every morning on Club Sites.

Rules and Quiet Time are no respecters of nature! If someone has to visit the facility block in the middle of the night, or early in the morning, and even if they take the greatest care to make as little noise as possible it is likely they will disturb someone. Especially now that small camper vans without onboard facilities are becoming more popular.

I understand there are reasons why folk are up and about early and I am not asking for monastical silence but some consideration to fellow campers.

The thing is, the definition of 'early' varies from person to person.
Consideration for others at all times covers it.

I think you just have to roll with things to be honest. Pitch spacing on Club Sites is not much more than bare minimum, you will have little idea of the folks you pitch next to, so either chill out and go with it, or use Sites with fewer pitches and greater spacing. It’s what we learned to do if we wanted a peaceful holiday. Club Sites are heavily rule and restriction bound places at the best of times, so the last thing they need is more guff that will be hard to enforce.
I actually shuddered as I typed “enforced”. It’s not what holidays should be about☹️

That is a fair point and of course people should take care not to disturb others. The problem I suspect is that those that habitually get up early don't see it as a special time of day?
Noise is a wide ranging problem and impacts on people in different ways. You only have to read reviews of sites where noise can be an issue, Berwick Seaview is perhaps one example where it is right next to the main line railway. Personally didn't have a problem with trains thundering by but when we were last at the Edinburgh site I found the planes coming into land at the airport disturbed me trying to get off to sleep.

For every you there is a me who rarely is in bed when the sun rises other than high Summer when even I am asleep around 5am. It is what it is I’m afraid but I’m with you re the slammings & loudness but those folk just don’t care & never will🤷🏻♂️☹️

I posted above and I've been searching for any reference to a set 'quiet time' and I still haven't found any, has anyone? All I have found is:
4. Noise
a. Be mindful of the noise levels on your pitch at all times, ensuring in particular that you do not disturb other guests after 10pm.
b. Please think of others and keep musical instruments, radios, televisions and so on at a considerate noise level. Generators should also be used with consideration for others, so please don’t operate them between 6pm and 9am

As I learnt a few weeks ago Monks would get up at 2am and sing matins at 4am so it wasn't all total silence

We once pitched next to family who had a child with Tourette’s. Talk about some being understanding? Some members around were ruder and noisier in their complaints, not only directly to the parents but also the daughter too who’s ticks were clearly uncontrollable and stressful to her Just a family trying to give their children happy experiences and doing their best. I felt for them! Thankfully some of us were tolerant and understanding.
I bet some folk complain even when others are trying their very best to be considerate to others!2 -

I assume the Op is talking about club sites? I can recall a leaflet about staying on club sites (there is one for dogs) but I can't find anything now just the rules I posted.
