Spain In November
Hello All
Looking to stay in Spain In November.
It is easy to find a campsite to stay on in Spain but much more difficult
to find stop overs in France on the way down.
Any suggestions would be nice.

Craig, The easiest way of crossing France in winter is if the overnight Portsmouth to St Malo ferry is sailing (the timetable will be out by the end of this month).With a convenient early morning arrival that gives you a drive of 300 miles down the motorway to one of the two Bordeaux campsites, and then a mere 120 miles to the Spanish border next morning.
Or if you want two evenly spaced days - about 220miles each day from St Malo to the Spanish border - you can stay overnight on the way south at Camping le Cadoret at Fouras, just south of La Rochelle.

All depends if you have a MH or a caravan. With a MH travelling through France in Winter isn't a problem there are sufficient sites open and lots of Aires to stop on.
Caravan requires a bit more planning, again sufficient sites open but you do need to know where, in advance and have a plan B just incase they have decided to close.
We have travelled through France from the tunnel to Spain and back again without issues.
Sites in Spain in November are busy but not as bad as in January where prior booking is advisable on the popular sites. If you are thinking of the Costas they tend to be busier with all nations, away from the coast its not to bad. We tend not to book but we do at times phone ahead to make sure there are spaces.
Arm yourself with an Acsi discount card and books and if a MH get some of the apps for finding Aires like park4night or camperstop etc.

We used the following in January a couple of years ago:
Les Acaisias, Tours
Camping Beau Soleil, Gradignan just south of Bordeaux.
Camping Larroueta, Urrugne.
Depending where you are going in Spain we have used the Municipal site in Zaragoza for Alicante and Camping Olimpia just north of Salamanca and Camping Casares for Estepona.
