First find yourself a longish flexible knife. An old bread knife is ideal. Now pop off the screw covers at the very front of the plastic moulding and remove the two self tapping screws. All that is holding your frame now is non setting mastic under the moulding steps.

From below, use your bread knife to slice through the mastic, wedging the moulding and chassis rail apart before it joins back together. Repeat on the opposite side. When done, lift the moulding from the front, wriggling the trailer cable out of its scoop.

BUT, if you have ATC fitted, then it needs to be disconnected first. There’s a wiring loom plug further under the van, with a few clips/ cable ties to release as well. Being non setting, the mastic will rejoin itself on reassembly as long as you keep it clean and dry. If not, here’s what you need; Soudal Butyrub Polybutene Non-Setting Mastic
