We recently returned from Lake Annecy and used the vet in Sevrier, near our campsite on the west side of the Lake

I made the appointment via email (they replied to each email within 3/4 days - unlike a vets that I emailed in Annecy city - I am still awaiting a reply!). We got an appointment at 8.30am on a Saturday, which was great as we then had the day free.

The cost was 37 euro for consultation only - we supplied own medication - not cheap compared to some that I have seen on here but in line with previous vets we previously used in Brittany and Switzerland.

The vet spoke good English, she was lovely with our dog and I would recommend and use again.

    4550 Route d'Albertville,

    74320 Sévrier.

For many that stay at 'Gandspette' before Calais they will have used Dr Jean Paulus near to the Carrefour supermarket.

He is no more and Reception at 'Gandspette' now will do your vet bookings to the nearest, and that is on the outskirts of St. Omer, Dr Remy Ducrot.

Dr Remy Ducrot is already mentioned on your map, but Dr Jean Paulus needs deleting.

footlooserv  - many thanks for the information - Vet added to Map.

Sorry for the delay in replying and acknowledging your helpful info.

By coincidence my wife has been reading a couple of books this week set in Arcachon - one called 'The French for Always' and also 'The French for Love'  - both worth a read she says.

These inconvenient trips to vets in France and Spain ( and most other EU country's )  before returning home is now a thing of the past !

The Pets Passport is no more and there is no longer a need for tapeworm treatment before returning home.

There will be an alternative Certificate to replace the PP but can be obtained from your own vet within 10 days of leaving the UK and lasts for 4 months.

Thought our trips with our dog was a thing of the past as trying to get her to take the tapeworm tablet was a nightmare. Now she can come !

In France just over a very quiet border crossing  from Switzerland.  Parking (for a 6m campervan) adjacent to the clinic. Or a larger public car park just 2 mins away.  Good English spoken and charged 40 eu in 2019

€54 including tablets for 40kg dog. I understand it’s about €35 for just an appointment.
