Is it true?

Apart from the facts that most people don't use copious amounts of gas, and that I know that Flogas is a nationwide network, it was your reference to the other suppliers that I was making my point.

Gas will be around for many decades still and probably long after we have left this planet. At the moment going green although it is good for the planet is not exactly the most economically way forward as we can see by all our high bills.
Someone somewhere has to pay for the wind and solar farms and other ways to harness energy.

I simply don't understand this general obsession with Calor Gas. There are many other providers of similar sized exchange cylinders, admittedly not all so wide spread as Calor or Flogas but they do exist. In some cases to use their cylinders a different pig tail may be required but that is an easy and quick adjustment."
POSTED BY NTH"That may be ok if one only used ones unit for short tours, and those suppliers are close to home. It wouldn't work for those that spend many weeks away at a time and travel far distances from the supplier. It's the convenience of a countrywide company that is the attraction."
Hi Guys, I agree with DD, but have met campers who have no idea that there IS anything but Calor!
So far as use/distance, as per NTH post, we use Gaslight, was BP now Flo Gas,10kg and never had an issue with travelling thousands of miles, for up to 5+weeks.
However we always use EHU sites and a 10kg has lasted nearly 12 months with around 100 nights away.

Our Dometic fridge freezer uses 380gm every 24 hours. We have the 7.5kg Safefill bottle so in theory fridge should work on gas for about 19 days however as gas is also used for cooking probably more like 10-12 days for a full bottle. Off grid in summer probably a lot less?

If AD's figures are accurate, that equates to about 1.5L per day. Rounding up DD's figure to 500gm pd, that's 1L of gas, so, as suggested, a 7.5Kg bottle will empty in about 10-12 days. On a thirty day trip to Scotland last summer, almost entirely off-grid, I got through 40L(20Kg) of gas.
