The Good, The Bad and the Down Right Nasty

+1, it does seem particularly unfair🤷🏻♂️, a genuine grievance would be best taken to thru the procedure in place👍🏻

I’m sure DD will tell us👍🏻

Because you posted
"Agreed. But if it's taken down it will once again prove that CC Ltd wants to hid things."
and
"They and or CC Ltd can respond if they wish. But I expect CC Ltd will just resort to censorship where it can."
Those quotes imply CAMC have a method of removing unwelcome comments from Fun. That’s where I got the idea from👍🏻

I spent a working lifetime having to deal with Members of the Public and staff, so have absolutely no doubt that there will be two sides to this story, as with any such situation. Sometimes it was mis communication, poor body language, PMT, or stress, sometimes complaints were justified. Occasionally, I did come across one or two repulsive customers, who seriously did try my patience, sometimes staff needed a bit of retraining, sometimes the odd customer was told to go forth and multiply and don’t darken our doors again.
Thankfully during my time, staff didn’t have to endure trial by social media, nor was any disciplinary action taken made public, one being cowardly, the other being poor staff management.
Staff won’t get things right all the time, they are human, like the rest of us. In this instance, the next complaint on a forum is likely to be, “why did staff let those folks in after 8pm when they wouldn’t let others in” It’s a no win for them most of the time.
Full story, both sides required, but not via trial by social media.🥱1 -
I am curious DD. What prompted you to share this with everyone?
It’s sort of the forum equivalent of a nothing story the gutter press might get hold of, third hand nonsense where one party is held entirely to blame but has no recourse to defending themselves publicly🤷♀️ Of little value to most folks, but gives a degree of gratification to anyone not particularly fond of the institution whose staff are being publicly hung, drawn and quartered, perhaps…..🤷♀️🤔

Yes, but you can ignore them if you sponsor the site or are one of Jim’s mates.

+1, this is precisely my argument against-‘you shouldn’t say that’ because if I’m being mendacious I agree I shouldn’t say that. If I base everything on fact then yes I can say what I want because no one would take me to court because they’d lose👍🏻

I don’t think many are dismissing it out of hand, but it is just one side of the story. However, to criticise in such a way, as a first instance, is totally wrong. The wardens have no right of reply as it would almost certainly be against their terms of employment. If after going through the formal complaints procedure the motorhome fun poster was still not satisfied, they could then take to social media and give both there account, plus the CAMC’s response to the complaint.

I thought that was the whole point of your OP 🤷🏻♂️

Earlier this year a post on here I think by JK? was saying that there was plenty of new recruits this year,
It did last long even though, I understand they all are given some site experience. before signing up for employment,
And the drop out after a few months is quite high,
As we have seen over the years ,and it has got worse, the Rose tinted specs of new recruits is a far different experience. when facing the public from inside the club ,,and as we have been told recently a lot of new members join on line with little or no idea ,of any rules or etiquette. that goes with membership

I think you might be painting a rather niaive view of potential recruits JV. The job description and terms and conditions are fairly comprehensive, and cover most working requirements, expectations, etc….
The drop out rate might be because it’s currently very much an employee’s market, lots of different jobs, lots of home working now available, and many firms have had to up their game in terms of recruitment.A few might simply find it easier to walk away and find something else if the abuse and attitude of some customers warrants it. Staff need good training, supportive managers if they aren’t to get stressed working for the public. That’s why you see so many workplace signs saying “we will not tolerate anyone abusing our staff”. Anywhere that has certain rules (and let’s face it, the Club really does have a lot of rules) will get hassle all the time from those who think such rules don’t apply to them, and that’s when problems arise. Not to mention super attentive visitors, happy to report or comment on any other persons perceived misdemeanours😎

4 people like thisGood post - Am also curious as to why draw our attention to Motorhome Fun post.
Just my personal thoughts – It’s Friday of a bank holiday weekend and maybe the OP wants to wind up people who post on this forum.
Will check back at some point to see if the OP posts to tell as to why he/she felt the need to draw our attention to something that allegedly happened.

Sadly, those who "know their rights" often are blissfully unaware of their responsibilities.

I disagree CY, they know their rights(I am one of them) to the extent that they(I) will not be dictated to wrongfully & to our(my) detriment. I know my rights because I have researched what I can & can’t do. The only folk I am the enemy of are those who try to tell me I can’t ‘do or say or be’ because they erroneously believe they have power, they don’t yet they do try to wield what they don’t have. I was once accosted-by placing his hand in front of my phone/camera whilst I was in a shopping precinct. He told me it was illegal to record to which I told him he was wrong. This security guard well overstepped his own company’s guidelines. Eventually when the precinct manager was called I got an apology. I was taking a picture of my granddaughter(outside the store) holding the gift of her choice she’d bought with money we’d given her for her birthday. Btw I asked the store manager if I could take a pic. I’m not good with authoritarians.

Further to your post, we have been in contact with our site team who explained that they had been advised that there would be an arrival on site approximately 7.45pm - 8.00pm, unfortunately by 8.30pm the members to which are referred to n the Motorhome Fun discussion had not arrived and a courtesy call was made to them, to which they received no answer. When the friends arrived at 9.10pm it was explained to them that unfortunately they could not go onto site due to the lateness of their arrival and even though the site does not have a late night arrivals area, they were found a place to park for the night with full access to the facilities. At no time were they told they would have to wait until 1.00pm to check in the following day and were checked in soon after the office was open the following morning.
Unfortunately, we appreciate that members are late arriving on site, however we do have to consider the disturbance it would cause others staying and affecting their comfort and convenience.

I would think that the security of of the premises, was more of a worry to the security person ,as has been seen with how some in society are looking to inflict harm to others ,
As many of us who have had many years of public facing responsibilities ,,the softly softly approach ,,on many occasions is met with an abusive "I Know My Rights". attitude
And can be seen more often these days notices to the effect that "photography and filming is not allowed on these premises"
