Getting campervan insurance prices

I have just had a fruitless time trying to get some sort of indication of insurance costs for a Mercedes Marco Polo campervan. Unless you have very specific vehicle details the Club insurance will not even start the process. My car insurance does not do campervan insurance. I just wanted to get some idea of what I could expect to pay as the  last time we had a campervan was 30 years ago!

I joined the camping club" (for cheaper vacations first ) ,and this club would not consider using my ncb when we bought a PVC but the ccc would and it has more than paid for my membership  with what I saved

You could giveComfort Insurance a go, they do campervans. When we switched to a MH three years ago the club wanted £1200 plus a lot of additional security. Comfort was less than half that including  European wide breakdown and recovery.

Insurance companies need details, from an actual camper so most of the cost can be pre informed. A Marco Polo will be on the expensive side compared to a Citroen or a Toyota camper. They don’t deal in ball park figures. You need to get on a campervan/Merc camper forum & do a shout out for help. Without a Lic plate & age they won’t move forward🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks all for your comments. Insurance quote update, I have now committed to purchase a campervan and got cover arranged OK with no requirement for any special security. But I will enhance what comes with the camper. As Rocky 2 buckets says you do need the specific reg to even get a quote they don't give ballpark figures!

I had wildly varying  quotes more than £1200 apart!
