France
For those of you who’ve visited France very recently…. did you download and use the TousAntiCovid app with your vaccination cert imported? I assumed the UK vaccination certificate on the NHS app would suffice but Brittany Ferries suggests otherwise. I’m also thinking the sworn statement is no longer required?

In September last year we didn't download the app.
We printed off copies of the certificate and had it on our phone. As soon as I showed the print out to reception staff they just gave it back to me. It was only needed for sites with a swimming pool or in cafes and restaurants.
We are going over in a few weeks time and will do the same.

We visited Dordogne and Ile de Re last September and used the TousAntiCovid App extensively. Most restaurants and cafes checked our vaccination status on entry. Very efficient system overall!

Thanks. Did you just import the booster vaccination certificate or all 3 vaccination certificates? I ask because I’m having difficulty importing more than one certificate.

We have our paper copies of vaccine details but these expire after 30 days. We are away for 5 + weeks in June so I'm guessing we need an app.
Can somebody please direct me, with a link?, to the correct NHS and TousAntiCovid Apps.
Next problem is we have one mobile phone. Is it possible for two adults to register on the one phone?

Colin. You need the NHS App not the NHS Covid App on your phone get it in Apple Store or similar. From there you can Screenshot your Covid Docs. We did the two of us on one phone; you will need separate accounts with passwords, quite straight forward - if I can do it anyone can! Understand the NHS Doc is acceptable everywhere - it was in the Caribbean last month!

Assuming android, you could have 2 different google accounts on the same phone and I think (but you would need to test this) that you could then have 2 instances of the app. However you'd have to log out and in to change ovr which might not be convenient. I have no knowledge of apple products.
I downloaded the NHS and Tous anti covid apps direct from playstation which was very straightforward but you need an NHS login for the former - and by implication the latter as it uses the NHS app.

Bill, I think (but better check) that since 14 March 2022 these apps are only required for entry to medical establishments in France.

On my visits last year the TousAntiCovid app worked brilliantly and was accepted everywhere I went. It was so much easier to use as well, compared to the NHS app; I found (and still find) that the NHS app required log in every time so you had to always remember your credentials (which I never could). This was awkward when in a passport queue or some such. I think that if you set ID protection on your phone your log in details would be retained, but I find that a total pain.

I think you’re right, that’s my motivation for wanting to us the TousAntiCovid app (just in case) rather than NHS App and wallet on iPhone which I would otherwise use and have used in Spain/Gibraltar in recent times.

So, given the NHS app has 3 certificates: jab 1, jab2 & jab3 (booster) how many of those did you load into TousAntiCovid, all 3 or just the booster?

Might have answered my own question… just noticed jab 1 & jab 2 certs when imported states “no validity in France”. Jab 3 (booster) cert states “validity depends on context”. I’ve imported them all and have the NHS app in reserve so I think I’m good to go!

I've downloaded the NHS app onto my tablet, and what a pain. I had to take a photo of passport, then do a video of my face and feed back 4 numbers they gave me so I can prove who I am. When I get confirmation through in a day or so I can access my records.
I'll download and print off the paper copy before we go, then whilst away repeat the process as my 30 days will run out whilst away.
In the middle of all this I had to use a different e-mail address to my wife, an outlook.com one. I now cannot get this to open on my laptop. If I was a teenager I'd be able to cope with all this.

But that app is only needed in France now to enter hospitals, care homes and Institutions for disabled people - since 14 March 2022 it’s no longer required for shops, bars, restaurants, campsites, museums, theatres, and so on.
