Forgiven David -- The first person that I saw wearing Two masks at the same time was the Archbishop of Canterbury on TV and the second was the young lady organising us gerry hat tricks going for our very first covid jab at Miss Lawrence' Library MMU Crewe!
I appreciate that masks as such are no magic bullet for C19 but I still find that organising myself in this way ensures that I keep my distance as suggested, my air fully circulating ( thank you Eunice et al ) and my few coins from unnecessary noise making in my pockets.
Take care, Keep Safe and keep on Caravanning

It seems but just a few weeks since we headed south yet it's now time to say goodbye to friends old and new, and Spain, and head north. I just hope the UK has warmed and dried a bit as we have become accustomed to just shorts and tee shirts ... and not a needle in sight 😃.

Seems the promise that our heroic NHS staff would be rewarded for their work during the pandemic is, for some, so much hot air!

I’ve just heard that on the local news, M. They’ll get a day off instead. Pah!

That's a long way south of our neck of the woods but I imagine the figures will be comparable 😟. We will just ignore it until we get back 🙂.
Anyone know if/when the PLF is due to be scrapped?
Also, I have just seen that Boots are selling LFT's at some exorbitant price. They're only about 2 Euro each in Spain.

Just another promise always intended to renege on😊😤

Apparently it’s a funding issue, so they say🙄. I’d happily pay a bit more in taxes to ensure NHS staff are well rewarded. After all, we depend on them.

Very comparable I would think.

They are.......well a few at the top are.
"The five highest paid roles at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske have been revealed to come with annual pay cheques well over £130,000 each.
The salries within the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust (RCHT) are almost five times higher than the average wage in Cornwall and ten times higher than some of the hospital’s lowest paid roles.
The lowest paid roles receive just over minimum wage, getting paid £7.90 per hour, but less than the £8.45 Living Wage recommendations.
The hospital’s medical director, Malcolm Stewart, has an annual wage of £159,502, chief operating officer Rab McEwan earns £142,500 per year, director of finance Sally May takes home £140,390 and the director of clinical governance earns £130,357."

You mean the £350m per week that was going to fund the NHS instead of the EU, mmm🤔

Another new variant might be at the root of the present Covid rates. I see Scotland has the highest rates since the outbreak, 1 in 19. I hope we learn more soon. I'll be ordering more test kits as family circumstances have needed frequent testing in our household. I think the free tests end late this month?

Lots of family members here have bad colds/ virus, likeliest source is youngsters, as a number are teachers, and all bar us are involved in childcare. Not sure how many have tested themselves, but we have to keep well away, can’t risk OH getting COVID as it might delay other hospital requirements for him.

The new variant is ‘colds & sniffles’ part2 just more transmissible👍🏻. The Govt response is-‘nothing to see here move along’

Hospitals are still being very vigilant thankfully, you have to test daily, and book a visiting slot to see loved ones. I think my OH will be in in next six weeks, so just hoping ICU beds aren’t too badly affected, don’t want things to prolong his wait. We have enjoyed very low rates around us for last month (for our area that is), but it’s climbing back up again now. Meantime, we just do our own thing. Hoping to get out in MH again in Summer, might be a cottage break first though. 👍

Shopping at Waitrose, dining at Steins and getting fuel at BP/Shell it would certainly feel like it!!

After 2 years of being so Covid careful, or sensible to my mind, we now have our son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old granddaughter living with us for a few months. All our previous strategies have now gone out the window, we have no time to check the shopping for a ‘wipe down’ and yes I was still doing that! Shopping now being purchased from inside a supermarket, first time for 2 years, as it’s impossible to plan ahead for deliveries. Today they have been to dance classes with the little one and spending the day in York, also somewhere we haven’t visited for a year or two. I must admit it shows what we’ve been missing being so Covid secure but have come to terms with the fact we will probably get it now!!

Don't tell MOH, but the one benefit for me, now that she has caught covid, is the peace and quiet that is evident in our house. I no longer get shouted at for a) not doing something, b) doing something, or c) failing to read her mind.
Of course in a week or less all will be back to normal.

Normal, Redface, Normal ?? what the 'ecky thump does THAT mean please ??
Don't forget that a} OH will have had time to reflect on your faults
b} rested and lubricated the vocal chords
c} worked out an "up-to-date" plan of corrective action for you
Good Luck

Thanks brue. Should have had scan this past Tuesday, but no, staff have COVID, so it’s delayed. Fingers crossed it goes ahead in a fortnight🤞
