No Calor Gas bottles

I am booked on a commercial site in late August and they have just emailed me informing that they are having problems obtaining bottled gas and not to rely on them for exchanges. They don't see the situation improving and currently have no 4.5Kgm butane available.

Evening
Here in north Devon we’ve literally given up any hope of supplying bottled gas on site. We used to get a “loan” stock from Calor at the start of the season, that’s around 20 bottles of varying sizes and have weekly deliveries for replacements until we closed, then they would take their “loan” bottles back.
Now there are no loan bottles on offer of all sizes. We could get sporadic deliveries if we have our own empties? I’ve no real desire to own all those bottles even if I could get them☹️. So, as with quite a few sites, we can’t provide a gas exchange. My gas cage is now a rather productive greenhouse😆

We passed a Calor lorry on Monday, with plenty of gas bottle's of various sizes on, although they may well have all been empty ones!
A friend uses the larger ones at home as there is no mains gas, she said she hasn't had any problems getting exchanges so far.

I appreciate that you are "over there", BB. It was your contention that it was dark and cold at 4pm here, when in fact I was up at 6:00 this morning and it was clear and bright, and have just now, 18:35, needed to put a light on in the van as it has finally gone dark.

Nellie, I'm sorry but you completely misunderstood the above...
Allan cited his friends' observation about Spanish winters being cold and 'dark at 4pm' as one reason for them not to be wintering here. I merely responded by providing yesterdays sunrise/sunset times for Benicassim which refuted that 'generalisation'.
my post didn't reference the uk in any way...other than to say that I much prefer the warmth here (even if it's limited to 9:30 - 5:30) to the cold of back home.

Hi BB & Nellie,
"Its 5 o'clock somewhere" may be the best approach to this discussion!!
I will again be passing the new, to me, Flo Gas stockist today so will be calling in to check a couple of things/prices and will report back.
It is in Par, or as its often referred to 'Parbados', so may be of interest to anyone who is visiting Cornwall and is in need.

My rule, when reading in the evening, is that after the third time the book drops onto my face it’s bedtime!

I apologies, BB, I took it that you were referring to the UK when saying it was dark at 4:00. Having re-read all the posts I see where I got mixed up.

No worries.👍
