If time is limited I would fly in and out - and treat it as we did when we toured New Zealand. Caravans and motorhomes are not the only way.

And good luck with your medical.

For us it has nearly always been a 3 month trip April thru June  5-6 days to get to southern Spain, pitch up stay put until late May early June then meander up thru Spain and France, always found the weather a bit hit and miss in France and Northern Spain during early April so just headed for the sun, will be doing same this year hopefully. Have also flown down quite a bit, daughter lives in Spain so could always stay with her, but of course we have to be mindful now of this 90 day thing frown

If you are arriving in Spain about the second week in March, you are likely to get better weather if you stay south of the Ebro Delta, which involves a journey of approx. 1,000 miles or more depending on how far south you travel.

As you have said, it will take 5-6 days to get there, plus a day or two to recover from the journey.  So that's 2 weeks of travelling (return) and then however long you wish/can stay.

I would want to stay for a minimum of 4 weeks to make the trip worthwhile, so a total time away of 6 weeks.  I'm assuming that your days of frantic dashes across the Channel are a thing of the past, so anything less than 6 weeks and you will need a holiday when you get back to recover !

I must be mad then, I'm planning on driving to the costa del sol for a two week holiday during August, only made it as far as Murcia last year and that was without a caravan... This year we will have a Sprite super quattro in tow 😎

On Friday got back from Spain and like you drive via France also missed last years winter trip so much.......

As for minimum well Brexit has made that decision for us even if we only had 84 days.

Loads of Brits missing this year especially over the Christmas / New Year period.

Go for as long as you can.

    Have fun.

WTG I think 4 weeks door to door would be the minimum time I would go for, depending on how far south in Spain you want to go, if its just around Valencia then why not, you know you can do it and in March the days are starting to get longer so able to cover more miles. The weather through France won't be as bad as in January, so not all doom and gloom.
