    Hi C&C, I try, but don't always succeed, when viewing this, and other forum, to apply the " in the pub" rule.

    I imagine the same exchange between a group in the pub, so as to not charge off down the assumption route, and the OP here would have prompted me to ask;

    Why Calais?, Why Perpignan?? ,How long for???

    The answers could be that they are using the tunnel, love Perpignan and are tied to when they take their holiday but, equally, they may be unaware of crossing alternatives, have just heard lots of people mention Perpignan is a nice place and have never travelled or holidayed in France in August.

    Having a conversation on any forum can be disjointed, and the poor performance of this website doesn't help, but maybe its a simple case of "you don't know what you don't know" but I can see why you are left wondering?!

    A week ago the OP says he has had a look at the routes, is unsure which to take, and asks for advice…..

    And then as the week goes by the replies dribble in, and just about every single one of those routes is recommended . So the  OP is no further forward.

    Maybe he will reply…maybe not.

    That is not quite correct. What the OP has had is a discussion on the merits of the particular routes, some more detailed than others, so assuming he had no knowledge before at least he has a sprinkling new knowledge now. Unfortunately with information requests such as the OP's we can't put ourselves in his place. As we all know the only way we acquire our own knowledge is to actually have personal experience. Unfortunately there is no one answer to the OP's request for information?

    It wouldn't be the first time , on this forum, that someone has requested advice on a best route and then is never heard from again! We all wibble on for a week or so, hoping that our route is chosen and that we eventually get feedback on a successful holidaycool

     Blimey, no wonder there are so few on here if the routes are so bad they are never heard of again!
