New Site Booking System

Well good point does anyone know? The FAQs don't appear to give date, or I can't find it?
April has been said somewhere?

If it was a family of 4 with 3 at the adult price it would be £40 more deposit for a week than just booking for one. In the event of defaulting on the booking their loss would be £23 more than ourselves booking a similar pitch. Which doesn’t seem fair.

I don't believe there's an exact date at present. We're advised it should be the start of the second quarter which of course is April.

I've mentioned before on this thread about valuable feedback. I reckon that loophole has been noted already

Feedback eh JK😉
I read about the loophole elsewhere, and was rather surprised at the potential deposit difference when I did that dummy booking. It will differ from Site to Site, and at different times of the year. It’s something the Club might have to monitor, either that, or make the deposit something like 50% of the pitch fee, which is the stable cost regardless of however many are using the pitch. 🤔

Well now you've highlighted it jvb

If they had "tested the water properly" before going how they have ,with the USP the club have thrown away. ,and now do not have much if any, of a lead over the other site operators ,
As others have said if the excuse. now given (although not in the past when questioned) the high number of short notice cancellations? And had extended the 72hrs to the 21days with the present booking system? Why need to give away the clubs USP?

It will indeed but I think we will have to wait until 2023 before we see the real benefit, if there is one? It would seem that many bookings have already been made under the old system for 2022?

For later bookers the club could see a drop off in 2022. The lack of hardstandings and the fact they know they will end up on grass, may put some off. It would me, unless I was booking when the weather conditions were known. It could even see cancellations once the pitch type allocation for early bookers is carried out. Those that end up with a grass pitch, may decide to look elsewhere.

Absolutely ,and in our situation ,we may well need short term cancellations as will quite a few others I would think, ,so until the club are more open with how the new booking system will work in that situation with deposits ,it may well curtail quite a few members,
And as posted they either have not thought it through properly and the forums are being monitored for more information that has still not yet been, considered ,or even thought about
And that is why we as members are still not being given all the info if it is just a couple of months away from implementation

Having just received our new membership cards, I am surprised that the club makes no mention to the new rulings.
Surely this would be an opportunity as so many still will not realise the many changes and additional costs.

quite so Goldie, the information is there for those that choose to read it.

There are going to be changes, but, other than the usual yearly price increase, not any additional costs? The deposit merely forms part of the overall booking, just paid at a different time🤔 I did notice that when you do make a booking now, it does mention that at the moment, no deposit will be taken, so an initial paving of the way changes will come about is starting to get out there. Still think a specific email link to each Member is the best way forward though.

A banner on the website, saying new booking system coming soon, your questions answered, might be a good idea. At the moment it is very much hunt a clue. if you don't do social media, bother to read the mag and have unsubscribed from emails, you are not going to know about it. Where as a banner might catch your eye when making a booking.
