Our LA gives every household in the borough a "Calendar" with all the different bin pickup days  for your area

Our LA sends me a text at precisely 4pm on the day before a bin collection is due and specifies which bin! Very handy. Ros still insists on marking her diary for every bin collection for the full year, though. Don't know why, other than if it isn't in her diary, it doesn't existundecided

Herzberg's Hygiene Theory applied to Club Membership and Calendars! I knew that I would be able to use that learning one day, and it's taken 13 years after I retired for it to come in useful ... smile

But doesn't that argue against Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs?

Cheers, WN, I'll keep my eyes open for their sale, as I'm short of tee shirts, although I done think OH thinks so.wink

Perhaps CS would like this one. https://www.cycologygear.co.uk/products/bike-maths-mens-navy-tshirt?refSrc=405051080745&nosto=productpage-nosto-1

The CCC had 800 calendars to give away. But members had to enter a competition in order to be in the hat for a freebie. The 12 photos are from members and each of these received a £20 voucher. I understand that there were 3000 entries for the calendars, so a fair chance of winning one!

Not as far as I'm aware, they're overlapping, rather than competing. Maslow was concerned with the Individual's Needs, peaking at 'Self Actualisation, whereas Herzberg looked at the Motivation Factors for the Individual at work, and the 'Hygiene' elements that focus upon the conditions and items that we expect to be present, and go unnoticed, until they disappear and that causes demotivation. The Calendar and/or Diary was used by the Lecturer to illustrate the point; 'Nobody values the cheapo damn Diary from work, but take it away and see what happens, you'd think a World War had broken out' is as near verbatim as I can recall his words

That's possibly why 'Hot Desking' proved so [un]popular for employees, despite the obvious organisational benefits for the employer. 'He leaves 'MY' Desk in a mess, and he's pinched my Ruler' etc. These disputes needed a referee, long before the availability of VAR and pitchside monitors ... laughing

Surely the main difference between them is that the basis of Maslow’s theory is human needs and their satisfaction, whereas on the other hand, Herzberg’s theory relies on reward and recognition.

However this isn't going to get us that much needed 2022 calender.wink

The only calendars I use are on my desktop and it is synchoronised with those on my tablet and smart phone. Paper calanders are wasted on me although I do buy the annual one produced by the foot and mouth painting society. This is pinned up in the motorhome more as a decorative piece than a useful item.

Kirklees Council also send an email the afternoon before bin day, it’s even colour coded for those who have difficulty reading.

However two weeks before Christmas they stopped communicating just when you really needed to know!

    D & I - you've done well to continue caravanning into your early 80's!

We changed much  (well, a bit wink) younger than that and now enjoy different styles of time away, either in our static van or self catering cottages (and, hopefully, when allowed again,  trips abroad.)

I wish you the very best with however you decide to spend time in the future. smile

All the very best, David and Irene.  Sorry you have decided to give up caravanning, but all the very best for what you decide to do.

Forgot to mention: A couple of years ago the CCC calendar featured a photo of a CMC site. I thought that was hilarious...

Received one last year, but nothing so far this 2022.  Didn't use last years one as it was not the format or size that I use for a wall calendar.  It got stuck in the cupboard and remained there until I had a clear out just before Xmas, when it got recycled.  So, a no from me.
