N232 from the Med coast to Zaragoza
Hi,
The N232 starts on the Spanish Mediterranean coast and joins the AP2 at Zaragoza. Has anyone had experience of towing a caravan up this road?
My main concern is being stuck behind heavy trucks on the switchbacks and being unable to overtake (due to the length of our outfit rather than a lack of power...), potentially doubling the journey time up to the AP2. (Might be easier to use the longer route north west via Teruel)

We’ve always used the A23 to Teruel, then on to Zaragoza. It’s a long climb, as you’d expect, but a good, wide road.
If you are planning on staying overnight at the delightful campsite at Zaragoza, it’s worth tolerating an extra night there, and getting the bus into the city.
Zaragoza, is absolutely stunning.
The bus runs every 20 mins from just over the road from the campsite, into the city centre.

Much would depend, I would think, on your Med coast destination. If towing especially, the autopista surely has to be the first choice and even more so unless you're heading anywhere north of Castellon. Equally, it's a holiday. Chill and enjoy the journey.

N 232 road description on Wikipedia is helpful …road is “in parts narrow and dangerous”, over two passes, one of them at 1295metres, etc.

Thanks for your helpful advice Pliers! I was leaning towards the A23 and will remember your suggestion of a short stop in Zaragoza. I'm enjoying planning the journey. Good luck with your trip this summer - we managed to tour the Dordogne and Il de Re in September having postponed from April.

The N232 passes the hilltop town of Morella , last time I towed over that route it in 2013 it was a ok apart from one very hilly and twisty section which had several tight bends and switchbacks .A new road and tunnel were being constructed and as far as I'm aware they are now open which makes the route a lot easier . There is still one section with a few switchbacks south of Morella but its more than doable . I would have no hesitation in using the route again .
