Dark teardrop below the eyes. You sure it's not a cheetah?

Until I play cards with it I’ll not be able to answer that one🤷🏻♂️

No it was sending out a warning of the impending storm!
When we were walking down by the local canal the other day exporters lady feeding the swans, geese and ducks. Speaking to her she said that avian flu had infected the swan population, killing nearly 30 in total, including 9 out of 10 of one brood of cygnets. We did the remaining one, who looked healthy enough, and I guess it was due to her, and other volunteers, feeding them on a regular basis.
There about a dozen swans out on the estuary along with about 30 Pochard, waiting to be fed.

After doing some leaf clearance from the lawn we were chased inside by the hail but looking out onto the lawn we saw a beautiful Grey Wagtail walking across it.
Still don't know why we get one every now and then but am grateful for it.

WN we have a Grey Wagtail here sometimes but more of the local Pied Wagtails and they bought the family with them the other week so had 6 altogether.
Had the Sparrowhawk land on the top of the bird feeder outside the lounge window yesterday just as it was getting dark most of the birds had gone thankfully so now he will be about again today.

We've had a few as well, Brue. It’s a bit unusual here so maybe something to do with the stormy weather🤷🏻♂️. They’ve been investigating our garden.

Hope wildlife lovers enjoy this link, second hand viewing, but the images are stunning.

The Elephants made me want to cry, along with a few others. Fabulous photos though. The little Arctic Fox is cute.

We were watching the usual Fieldfare visitors eating the apples left on our trees when we spotted this. Have never seen a "pied" Jackdaw before but this one certainly stood out. Hope the photos show the colouring. We sometimes see blackbirds like this but not Jackdaws. He was alongside a Magpie and looked like a strange cross.

Grand sighting, brue. Never seen one either.

This is a good plant for insects in winter. I took a photo today of our "Castor Oil" plant, it's about 6 foot high. A tough plant, the flowers are similar to the ones on Ivy.

Interesting plant brue. On the way back from a short shopping trip at Villefrance saw about 15 herons and 1 little egret then further on another field about 30 plus cattle egrets and then a few great white egrets as we have had a lot of rain and fields are flooded there must be a lot of food about hence so many of the heron family about.

Just been locking and outside building up and heard some birds calling and looked up to see 40 Common Cranes flying over and going Northwest usually they go south in late October wonder if the weather over the Pyrenees has confused them but a great sight to see and now have got clearer skies.

Thanks ADP1963, the nearest spot for you is Somerset or a bit further Norfolk, and as I used to live in Malvern that would have been a sight to them flying over the hills if they get that far.
Had the Hawfinch on the window feeder a few times and no other birds can get on it, they will have a bit of a shock Wednesday as we are away for awhile so no food will be put out so hope they will come back when we are back.

Not something just seen but sometimes to listen to, with the prospects of times ahead. We

Nice music Nellie, thanks. When you think of it there is a lot of beautiful music written about birds and wildlife. I like Craig Ogden's "Birds Flew Over The Spire."
RedKite and ADP although we have Cranes here in Somerset I still haven't seen them, there is a LINK to the local project here. They are doing well.
Interestingly I have spotted the "pied" Jackdaw out in the fields behind us, easy to pick out, it just shows how vulnerable creatures are when they don't blend in with others.
