Domaine de la rive camping France
Bit of a long shot here really, and not UK campsites related but just trying to find some information.
We are hoping to book a week's stay at Domaine De La Rive campsite, Bisscarosse near Bordeaux. Looking for information from anyone who has been to this site before. What area should we pre book a pitch in or what pitch numbers do you recommend? We've been caught out in France before by not pre booking and ended up on a tiny pitch that can only just fit caravan on.
Many thanks to any who can help.

I haven’t been there but have been to similar sites and can imagine what it will be like, and it all depends when you are going.
In July and August it will be very busy indeed and you absolutely must book, giving them details of the size of your outfit, asking for a site plan and specifying what sort of pitch you would like.
But in May and June it will be quiet and they will be trying to attract customers by offering remarkable value to anyone presenting an ACSI card. What amazing value that will be for 20 euros a night, even though not all facilities may be open.

Hi Danksy, Just seen this due to this forum not being what it once was and only visiting occasionally.
However, I have stayed at la Rive, indeed it was on our last trip abroad in 2019 and quite enjoyed the site and area.
It was partly chosen for convenience as we headed South fro Roscoff and our friends Northe fro a rally in Spain.
I will look out some pics and info but the pitch we had was a very good size and the facilitates of a good standard.
Recall that they offered a discount that increased with the length of stay but if you are only there for 7 days maybe not so great.
The bar restaurant was good and the shop decent but, as with may French sites, it is out on a limb. There are great cycle tracks from the site and Arcachon and the Dune Du Pylat are not far away.
Would I go back-yes.

Fingers crossed!
Ah, it worked-our pitch, our friends and a nearby very nice restaurant.

agreed, David. We 'must' find time to spend some serious time between on the west coast, from Brittany to Arcachon/Biscarrosse...our type of feet up site.

Yes, I'll add the Landes to my earlier post...😀

Hi AD & BB, Yes good site, but if Sen Yan had been available may have gone there instead.
Typical of France in that in Arcachon you struggle to park but a few miles away there seems to be no one around.
Liked the Landes but it wasn’t long before the seemingly never ending treescape began to loose its appeal and smelly Mimizan, the wood processing plant, didn’t help!!!

Take your earplugs. The cicadas are noisy.
