New Site Booking System

I suspect there are more readers than posters on CT and maybe quite a few following this particular discussion.
I feel JK has given some good info/pointers. Long may he do so (after his Zoom meetings of course). Good Luck to all staff with those.
Starting this new system at the beginning of the new financial year 2022 seems a possibility as Spring has been mentioned somewhere in CAMC’s info. We will probably know more in January’s 2022 announcement.

Thank goodness we have no intention of using any sites that we need to book ahead.
Anything before April will be last minute, anything after April and before the end of June will be abroad.
Might even not bother to renew our membership for 2022 and just use the CCC sites until this club sort themselves out.
Reading through this thread has been exhausting, life is for living.

I do use the site directory & map for CLs. However, I have fairly recently discovered the on line map that shows CL locations which takes away all the issues about needing to know what county a site is in.
My grip is that I wish ALL the systems used the CL number that is in the book, so as to be sure I was looking at the same site.

I have not read every post word for word as some as been repetative .
What happens with large units as in the past the warden cone off a pitch that is suitable for my size of unit?Although I still have had the option to choose another available pitch if I wanted
There as also mention that they have already introduced 1pm as the earliest arrival time .
I have just looked at the Abbey wood site for next year and it appears they are a lot earlier
Type of site:Club
Open to:Non members welcome
Open all year
Earliest arrival time:10:00
Total pitches:151 (95 hardstanding)
Max outfit length (m):9

The fine detail has not yet been released, GB. As this thread shows, there are many questions yet to be answered.

There are a few sites where the lease conditions specify a different arrival time the 1300 arrival times that many sites have as the earliest time has been in operation for at least the last two years,
As I understand it the request via the site staff for a pitch suitable for a longer vehicle will not change as although pitch type is to be introduced it will not mean a specific pitch ,

Afternoon
A suitable pitch will be made available as you've experienced before GB. Nothing changes there except when the new system takes over you'll have the choice to book the surface type. Even then a pitch will be available.
Arrival times are normally 12.00 or 13.00 with exceptions as you've found, there are a few that have early arrival times Edinburgh is another that comes to mind. There are various reasons for that which jv has covered already.

When the new system goes live, I think at present they're looking at April, new bookings or amendments after that will mean a deposit.

Agree, I see no benefit in remaining now, we are tending to use C&CC more for THS & centre weekends plus when using sites with the wrinkly and other discounts the C&MC are almost double in cost plus C&CC have more choice in booking especially being able to book a pitch with no EHU.

I've already booked my 2 nights before the ferry going out in May, not with this club but with the C&CC much better placed for our drive down the M6.
Way better price as its straight after the first May Bank Holiday, which they are not in high season but this club is
We of course have booked a H/S, soon to available with the CAMC but not at the time I made my booking.
All in all we have found over the last 2 years we have used C&CC way more.

Don't see my bookings changing much from the last two years:
CMC nights 27
Continental 0
Commercial 26
Rallys 0
CL 6
C&CC 9
CS 3Possibly a few less C&MC sites, all depends where we decide to go. Nothing planned or booked at all yet. First part of the year will probably be trips at short notice. Certainly will not be leaving either Club.

Those who are falling over themselves to tell us they are leaving the CAMC make themselves sound like rather bitter people. And over relative trivia.
I now only pay for CAMC membership after my own personal experiences, over many years, led me to only look at their sites and reject those of the other club, of which I was once a member, and those owned privately.
Anything that serves to make the experience of belonging to the CAMC better, as I firmly believe these changes will ensure, is welcomed by me. If it results in fewer members, that's an extra bonus if it means pitches are more available - although, of course, not good for the club itself. It won't happen anyway. The numbers who leave because of this will be few and mostly cutting off their nose to spite their face. It will be a minor blip quickly filled by new members and of absolutely no consequence whatsoever.

not having read all posts ,What happens if you book a grass pitch and on the day of arrival the said pitch or pitch type are not useable ie a sea of mud ,what happens on C C C sites is that you told that that is the only type of site available to you they still expect you to use it even when hard surface pitches are unoccupied,, just thought if you pay upfront to gain quicker access to your pitch how will it be possible to get pass the queue of van waiting to get through the barrier onto site just another task added to the site wardens list of things to do

Not bitter at all, in the past we have used this club's sites a lot. A few years ago we decided to try the other club as there were areas we wanted to visit that they had sites this club didn't.
Over the last 2 years when we couldn't go abroad we found that we gravitated towards the CCC as getting a site was easier, more choice of pitch types and with the aged discount way more VFM.
Now that we are able to travel abroad we really don't see the point in staying members of both clubs as we will be touring more abroad than here.
Our membership for this club is due in May the other club not until October. Its just sense that it's this club that won't be renewed. We will continue to use the other club until October when we will review our plans.
I have no loyalty to any club, why should I they have none to me.

We will not be leaving due to deposits, and welcome surface booking, but will really only stay members due to the CLs .
We had booked Silverbank at Banchory for the end of March as the start of a tour up north, however DD has asked to borrow the caravan for a week in St Andrews at the start of April ( they can only go in school holidays), so we have now cancelled that. We did look at booking for 5 nights later in the month, but not at the cost of £32.70 per night! So we need to find a CL or book a nearby CCC site.
The site at St Andrews is family friendly, with a big play area, a free to use indoor pool, and an indoor soft play area for £2 per session. All pitches are serviced hardstandings, facilities are said to be excellent in the reviews. The price in April......£30 per night.
The CAMC site at Banchory has nothing for families, and no serviced pitches, which would of course just bump the price even higher. Presumably the target market is not families, but the price seems very high anyway.

I find it hard to believe that the CCC would insist on you using a muddy unsuitable pitch If there were other pitch types available, it's not to their advantage to have pitches out of use for longer than they need to.
I recently saw a site manager take out a grass pitch due to a tent groundsheet spoiling it. He raked it and put grass seed down, watered it and said he would water it every day it didn't rain, until the grass took hold and he could put it back in service. I didn't think it was that bad and voiced that. He said he could if he had to let a small pup tent on it but they would have to pitch in a different place on the grass, his preference was to to take it out until it recovered.

We have cancelled three club sites booked for this month,, only because we do not want to miss any appointments that may come up for OH
But we will still be meeting up with some friends in Norfolk for 3days over New Year on a small commercial site that we have used before at £20 per night with heated toilets and EHU ,compared to club sites at nearly £35. Per night
As we have now 53yrs club membership it would be uneconomical to leave this club

We since getting a MH belong to both clubs. Mainly as we are moving a lot more and it fills in the gaps. For 2022 not much change, September / October already booked and only one contentious mixed surface site. CAMC sites are certainly in the majority over the C&CC, despite the price difference. However, come 2023 when the CAMC has lost its USP, this will certainly change. We have really liked the other clubs sites we have used.

We have used Cls and Commercial sites before on a few occasions
When it suits but we like using the known quality of club site facilities ,we have been let down on other sites numerous times before and that includes Cls
We have used the site in Norfolk before and it is quite Good and open all year
