I would question whether you would use more water on a serviced pitch, we don't but just have the convenience of having it on tap. (we always use our own facilities regardless of facilities on site) Hebden Bridge is a good example of a no facility site where they have added a few serviced pitches. It was before COVID we were there but I think we paid about £20 a night for a serviced pitch which is on a par with most CL's providing similar facilities. I suspect the limit for this becoming more widespread  is the question of leases. If they can sort Northbrook Farm out I think they plan to have some serviced pitches there but otherwise keep it a no facility site.

That's the thing isn't it though PD, choice, club sites have one set up CL's have another. I am a big fan of choice. You appear to want everything the same, everyone to have meters, or at least the club. I don't know if you write in to hotels and the CCC in a like manner?

You're a big fan of meters but others are not yet you want everyone to have them at great cost to the club for no real return.

And as you've now stated you don't need club sites to have a good holiday use those sites that have meters and let those who like the current set up carry one. Everyone then wins?

K all good stuff but with respect one point:

I am saying that this is not correct

Now I have my point of view and you have yours and I respect yours but I have not made a factual, arithmetical, scientific, or whatever, error that is incorrect. Your view is not the correct one any more than mine is.

But some people are more correct than others....wink

I believe CLs aren't now represented on the CAMC executive so they can hardly be classified as "mini-club" sites, they are privately owned and privately run.

I see the C&CC is building an area for CS owners on their web site, should this be the way forward for CAMC too?

indeed, but I didn't say all were, just the one described a few pages back. If one was standing on that site, what would look different to a club site?

Actually I do know, there would be working wifi. Yes Ok I admit I was totally wrongsmile

It may well be as i have been told the differences in the size of site compaire to CLs aven one no show at a cl could be at least a fifth of a days income

I have also been told that there has been an increase in club site no shows this year  and am not being anti "dark side"but according to site staff the majority have been new members with motorised caravans and campers, that in the past was minimal compared to when deposits were taken in the past

+ 1 there Brue. Lots of choice is needed so people can choose what they want.

It is still interesting that to get enough business  and stay afloat this CL had to almost become a mini club site?

Yes but if you read a few posts before it wasn't me that first used the terms/phrase stay afloat I merely copied it in a reply to that poster, so perhaps you should take it with who said it first?

I really don't know why you chose me, and keep choosing me, instead of the originator for your comments?undecided

It's really about marketing and providing a service that some but not all want and it keeps this particular business afloat. Others may differ and one of the the best customer approaches of all is choice.

Many thanks for the post, it is indeed interesting reading.

The question I find rather amusing is the one where some club members feel that they regard non members being able to book & are taking the pitches, that they can't....unfair.😭 or is it the case of others being more organised with their yearly booking regime.

If you actually look at the answer to the question 98% of bookings are made by the club membership & not non members. 🤭😎

Kind of kicks into touch the mystery that the pitch you can't get, is always someone else's fault.

It’s never been a mystery to me😁 The organised, pro active little birdie usually gets the juiciest worm!
