Camper Vibe - 90 Days in the Schengen Area
I have just come across this YouTube video on the Camper Vibe channel on how to manipulate stays in Europe beyond the 90 days (perfectly legally) which I thought was worth posting here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHv1ZWzcibM As pointed out in the video it doesn't really help those that want to stay in Spain for longer than 90 days, unless of course you can spend some time in Morocco. It might be worth a watch for those considering a longer than three months stay in Europe.

It's not stays in Europe that are limited to 90 days, it's stays in the Schengen area, and it's long been known that if you move out of the area into another part of Europe for the requisite time you can re-enter, the same as if you came back to the UK. There are online Schengen calculators that will show you how it works - just enter your dates.

Whichever way you slice it, you are still going to have to decamp for 90 days if you've used up your 90 days allowance even if you have done two more or less back to back separated by a few days.

The interesting thing is that I didn't appreciate was the number of countries in the Schengen Area, some of them surprised me. I am sure there are online calculators but sometimes its interesting to see how others are managing it in real life so to speak.

Covid is limiting full timers to the Schengen area and countries neighbouring it these days, but before Covid my son’s in laws sold up and roamed the world in converted vans for several years. They covered much of Southern Africa, then Australia, then New Zealand, and were planning South America when terminal cancer sadly struck one of them.

I’ll happily continue doing both, but for somebody lucky & unlucky enough to live in an area that attracts tourists, I can’t wait to see the back of the staycation boom!

I've played around with one of those Schengen calculators. We can still do what we have been doing for the last 10 years.
3 weeks March to Lanzarote
End April/May & Half June to France etc.
September to November Spain
If we want to stay into December then we will just go out later in September.
On the calculators you can play around with dates adding and removing them until you get a good fit for what you want.

Croatia is going to be busy! Its not a solution for winter trips. Went there in late March 2019. Cold and few sites open. Not really an option until May. There is word of them becoming part of Shenegen in 2022 or 2023. That will cut down the numbers of UK visitors doing the Shenegen shuffle.
