" ...mine is booked tomorrow less than 6 months since 2nd jab."
How did you manage to book that? Our surgery (receptionists) are bogged down at the moment rearranging appointments which were mistakenly made for less than 6 months after the 2nd jab!

Ah, thanks for that.

Sounds not dissimilar here. Mind they haven’t combined them, we had our flu jabs last week, still waiting on C19 boosters. OH having his Friday, we are not due yet.

got a text a week or so ago inviting me to go online and book - all very straightforward. Ditto flu jab but had to phone and book that. Vaccination centre was very understretched when I attended, got there early as is my habit and all done before my booked appointment time.

Just listened to 11am news on Classic.
Encourage over 50's to apply for boosters less than 6 months....... new minister for vaccines not ruling out tighter controls....
You really couldn't make it up.....
Blaming lack of take up! - push it off your own shoulders.
??Organisation? Seems very patchy just luck on your area and supplies......
Scientists saying nay to bringing it forward there's a better way to do the job. Dejuva anyone?
I was driving so might have got a slightly adrift 🤔 but I think not.

M, an elderly couple in the Village were taken in their wheelchairs to get theirs last week & that was less than 189 days, I think the NHS make exceptions for some particularly the very vulnerable-every day counts type of thing👍🏻

It’s good to see that level of organisation JV👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I wasn’t moaning, I can assure you. As I mentioned earlier, I am committed to looking after my Mum who has dementia. Suspect that a few hours a day, few days a week might be less stressful than dementia care 24/7, but I am thankful others do have the time and commitment. I did voluntary work for 12 years, not in health care though. Had to give it up to devote time to Mum, and OH who was in recovery from Cancer.

Further to an earlier post….beware of being called less than 180 days after 2nd jab. Attended and queued for my booster appointment today after being invited to do so online. I’m a week too early so sent away and now awaiting further appointment. Not my fault, having provided ID the system gave me that date option and it seems quite a few others have a similar experience. Waste of a morning!

I’m surprised the system got it wrong, they didn’t ask for ID but I did give my nhs number & DOB to be told I’m not invited.

That's precisely the problem I was alluding to up thread, Bill. Mrs M has a friend who is a receptionist at one of the local surgeries and they are at their wit's end rearranging appointments made in good faith and explaining, to sometimes extremely rude patients, the reasons.

I was given a story about selecting a slot that had just become available having been cancelled by somebody else. However, I recall there were plenty of vacant slots when I logged in, not just a few gaps. I’m happy to forgive the odd cock-up, but being turned away for the sake of a week seems daft - hey ho.

We were invited two days I had used the NHS website mans both our invites advised to ignore this communication if you have already made a booking,
Try the NHS website and just ignore the, wait for invitation notice ,as it seems a case of left and right hand syndrome
