    Peedee

I haven't applied this year as I am rather busy on that day so didn't think it worthwhile. Does anyone have a link to the questions asked?

Is it a case of  "If voting changed anything, they wouldn't let us do it" ?

just completed c&mh survey only to get the below response at the end

Thanks for your interest in our Autumn Survey 2021 on behalf of The Caravan and Motorhome Club.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club and Harris Interactive appreciate your willingness to complete the survey, but unfortunately we have now reached our target response numbers for this survey.

Keep an eye out for further emails for future exciting surveys where you can share your important views and opinions.

They have been advertising the cut of date for submissions as 23.59pm on 20:10:21, so you were a bit late to the party😁

Sorry email was Deleted User as soon as I had completed the survey as I was not impressed when the final page popped up

‘ The Caravan and Motorhome Club and Harris Interactive appreciate your willingness to complete the survey, but unfortunately we have now reached our target response numbers for this survey.‘

It was what I thought of the club, how many nights away and what type of site we stayed on cl/club/commercial, usual info gathering.

Ah, yes I know which one you mean, I completed it for our stay in Cornwall. I thought it was something to do with AGM, but totally different I see now. The deadline I mentioned was to do with AGM submissions.

Unfortunately I had to exit the webinair AGM meetig at the point the DG started his address. It was good to hear the Club could well make up ground this year to cover the loss made in the previous year but appart from that I was not impressed especially with the answers received to the  questions I heard, two of which were from  CL owners about the supply of electricity. Given it is normal for the speakers to have knowledge of these in advance the responses were remarkably lacking in supporting facts.

While I did not hear all the meeting and the responses to other questions, when you stripped out the hype of what I did hear, it was disappointing.

If anyone listened to all of it, was anything said about deposits for bookings?

I was unable to view the AGM this year but I note that all the questions and answers will be made available under the AGM meeting details. I hope these will available to all of us.

I think a lot is dependent upon this new booking platform. I rather got the impression that deposits, pitch type booking and “fast track” payments, whatever those are likely to be will be linked. Might be electronic remote payments, no need to go into office🤷‍♀️ Not expected until late 2022.

Plenty of time for lots of huffing and puffing around all the new stuff, smart phone luddites can start saving up now for a phone upgrade, and grandchildren can get family trained up on usage😁

It’s not a big deal to use a system like that. As you will know, many a cottage booking is handled in that way and Orkney Council have a superb pitch booking system for their campsites where the exact pitch can be booked and payment made seamlessly.

DK posted elsewhere that the club may have bought in an off the shelf booking package to do this. Let's hope so!

I look forward to reading all about it in due course. It’s been a long time coming and, although we've benefitted from the free and easy laid back current arrangements, it never made business sense and seemed to annoy a lot of folk.

A seasonal pitch looks more attractive as time go on, in 2023 this site could be the placecool, and even more so with the train service home for a couple of days after 21 nights wink

The C&Cc have successfully used a good advance booking and payment system since the Vikings arrived. If we can get to the moon we can surely cope with on line payments for CAMC sites...wink

There was a question about seasonal pitches at AGM. Someone wanted them banning to free up more touring space. Response was that they are only in place on those Sites with capacity, but it’s under ongoing review.

With hindsight, I think I said there were only three questions asked, but I have now recalled about six, so sorry for my initial estimate.

You’re still giving them your card details and you give them your bank details if paying membership fees by DD. I can’t see any difference🤷🏻‍♂️.

Anyway, it’s my guess that online payments will be hosted by a third party such as World Pay. Maybe they’ll accept PayPal - there’s a thought!
