Entry to Spain from UK

A question for anyone who has recently been or may still be in Spain having gone direct from UK.

We are planning a holiday in January. Obviously I know a lot can change between now and then. I read that, presently, one needs to fill in an online health control form within 48 hours of flying to Spain from the UK.

So, does one need to print a copy of that form or is it in some way added to one's passport details?

Any information would be appreciated.

You will need a hard copy. The details cannot be added to one's passport because EU citizens, including those living in the UK, don't travel with a passport so in such cases there would be nothing to which to details could be added.

Thanks, Lutz, although, sadly (IMHO), I don't believe we count as EU citizens any longer!  frown

When you fill in the form online you receive an email with a QR code on and that is all you need

    Evening

We are in Spain at present. We travelled with BF from Plymouth to Santander, all very straightforward. At check in hand in ferry ticket and passport, then qr code from PLF along with proof of double vax. QR code was photographed (we printed copies of both which did actually speed up the process) Before disembarking BF staff were taking everyone's tempuratures. At passport control passports were scanned as usual but were then date stamped. From checking in at Plymouth and throughout the journey mask wearing is compulsory as it is here still. As we are returning before the end of the month when the proposed changes to testing happen we have booked a day two PCR test.

The guy at check in at Plymouth mentioned the main reason for lengthy queues was because people aren't prepared with the necessary paperwork, some even failing to complete a PLF at all!

But doe that not happen in most scenarios , when we had our first and second covid jabs most of the delay was with those who had not got the right paperwork or not filled it in as requested. , in the letters that came in the same envelope

Same when I had my flue jab the holdup was with those who did not read the letter that came with instructions

We went from our house in Southern France, into Spain, a few times in June, July and August, with no border restrictions whatsoever!  Just a reassurance to those readind this thread, who may think it's not easy to get into Spain any more from the UK.  There were no border controls at all, on the A9 autoroute between Perpignan and La Jonquera.

The original question was about procedures at a UK airport before flying out - and I think the travel agent who made the booking will answer that nearer the time.

Actually, no, it was about what documentation we would need to show on arrival in Spain. Unless, I've misunderstood the instructions and you have to show the Spanish Health Control form before being allowed to board your flight?

We won't be using a travel agent, but booking ourselves, though I'm sure the company concerned will give us all the advice we need nearer the time, and, of course, as I said, things may well change considerably between then and now.

Just interested to hear what's happening at the moment.
