European entry from UK

We are all being made aware of new rules regarding entry to Europe, UK badges instead of GB, no need for green card, no need for international driving permit etc etc, but as holidaymakers in our own caravan environment where do we stand with fresh meat and veg etc as the rules now say that you cannot take such produce from the UK into Europe. I can understand that on a commercial scale but to carry sufficient food for the first few days, as we all do, it seems unreasonable to include small amounts like this in the “rules”. Any opinions or clarifications on this would be welcome as we are off to France in October.

We are not allowed to carry any meat or dairy products into Europe, not even a pint of milk for your morning cuppa. We are allowed to carry a limited amount of fish, I believe one fresh or up to 10 or 25kg ? is permitted. Fresh fruit veg is allowed and I believe this is limited to 10kg.

After the sausage and bacon "war" with Ireland I thought I'd spotted a loophole as frozen sausages and bacon are allowed. I somehow found an e-mail address as asked if frozen meat and dairy is allowed and was told no.

Early reports back seem to show inspections are few and far between and many owners are going to continue taking fridge contents.

For convenience I plan to take a few frozen meals and milk. I believe the benefit of these for first couple of days outweighs any potential loss of them being confiscated.

Each to his own, but unless arriving on a Sunday or Bank Holiday surely supplies are readily available locally on arrival?  What’s the point in risking the attention of the authorities?

My experience has been that no one ever checks to see if you have anything" illegal" in your fridge. I wouldn't worry.

We travelled via the tunnel to France on 18th September, we had our gas locker checked, our COVID vaccination forms barely glanced at one and not at all at the second one, this could have belonged to Micky mouse the attention they took, as for food in the caravan we abided by the rules of no dairy, meat etc etc we did take Bananas in the fridge and could have taken a pineapple as also allowed 😀, I am not sure where someone has seen you can take vegetables as I have not seen this under allowed to take.
Has anyone returned from France to UK via the tunnel in recent days ? as to what checks are being made on returning ?, we are due back on 11th October
