AntiCovid App advice please.
Hoping someone in France just now or recently been can answer this question. The QR code generated in the travel section on the NHS App has an expiry date. When this code is then loaded onto the French AntiCovid App does it also expire? Would rather not find out the hard way on entering a restaurant or arriving at a campsite.

You can update it easily. If you make a note of the expiry date you can always make sure that it's up to date and just replace it before the expiry date by scanning the NHS QR code again. But the simplest way is to use it directly from the NHS App which is always up to date - because it's not strictly an expiry date, it's always a thirty day period after you open the App. The NHS App works just as well with French scanners, although it does take more clicking to get to the QR codes than on Tousanticovid.
Came back from France on 9th September, having used both the NHS App and Tousanticovid without issues.

I was just wondering how you might to do that as I don't think it would allow you to have two versions on the same app on one phone, but I could be wrong. What you could try is to download the app on another device at home and set it up for your details. When you open the app on the phone it asks for your email address and password every time, unless you have password saving set up. So it should be able to show both sets of information but will require different logins.

I assume that a family of 6 may have a bit of a queue behind them by the time they've all sorted themselves out.
It does seem bit of a faff but as we won't be going until next May at the earliest I'll give it time to settle down or be amended. If not I'll have to see what Santa brings this Christmas.

By May next year things could of course be very different. However I wouldn't want to stand in the way of someone getting a nice smart phone as a present
Both Margaret and I have our own smart phones and have had for some time. Margaret never thought she needed one but you would have to bite her hand to get it off her now!!! A bit like the Kindle I got her!!!David

You may have to prove your vaccine status in the UK as well as 'Over there', in the near future, so perhaps you ought to think about how you might do it most easily. Perhaps, after reading the list, spending a few pounds on a phone which does have Apps might be the easier option.
We've got a UK theatre booking soon and have to have:
- Proof of double vaccination using the NHS App OR
- Proof of a negative lateral flow test, results logged on the NHS App within 24 hours of the event OR
- Proof of a negative PCR test logged on the NHS App within 48 hours of the event
- OR
- A text or email confirmation of a negative test logged with the NHS OR
- A timestamped photograph of you with your negative lateral flow test OR
- A COVID Vaccination card showing double vaccination, along with matching photo identification.

If you cannot use a mobile app a printout of your NHS certificate will be accepted. We saw many a French person present a paper copy of their QR code for scanning.
If you have an Apple Watch, I am using a Series 6, and download the Tous AntiCovid App to your iphone it will also appear on your Apple Watch. Just tap the watch and the QR code appears.

My view is that with the aftermath of Br**** changes now starting to take hold with it's many technicalities, coupled now with the CV19 issues, basic life and certainly travel has become pretty complicated very quickly.
We are currently in sunny Lanzarote and will sadly (but hopefully) return this Sunday after negative CV19 tests (25 euros each) & UK return form QR. It is interesting that the couples here we have spoken with (outside at 2m with masks !) have all had & getting assistance with testing & forms etc from younger relatives back in UK. Our Travel operator with their confusing info & even hotel rep were / are no real help.
Whilst general technology is daunting to most (inc me) it is the already here and is in the mainstream & sadly needs embracing. Equally would suggest for any overseas travellers a decent mifi connection (your own wifi) is a must have to ensure a fast enough & more reliable connection. This Hotel public & open user wifi is also useless slow, unreliable & very in-secure for any form filling.

Used the Tous AntiCovid App extensively during our 4 week trip. Scanned the QR Code in at the last possible moment, Sunday 29 September. Our last night in France was 28 September and used it to access a restaurant at 6.30 pm. Later that evening when checking the App it showed in red that the code had expired. Unless you have access to a printer to print out an updated QR Code to scan into the French App you will need to download the NHS App onto 2 devices or just rely on the NHS App however there are a lot of clicks to get to the QR Code. The benefit of using the French app was that the QR code downloaded to my Apple Watch and it was a easy job to show it on the phone.

Using iPhones, we took screenshots of the relevant QR codes, stored them in photos, and found it much easier to access them when needed.
And needed, they certainly were. Just about everywhere in Paris, restaurants, galleries, entry to the Parc des Princes, getting near to the Arc de Triomphe, etc it was necessary to have the QR code scanned.It wasn’t a problem, once you got used to it.
The NHS QR code was accepted everywhere, thankfully.Happy travels, everyone 🙂
