Spain for winter
Im sure this has been asked before , can't wait to winter in Spain but the choice of areas and campsites is overwhelming. Where did you regulars start? Any site recommends would be great.
Thanks Alan , from Bristol

Some look at this Club’s site recommendations, some at the package deals of ferry plus campsite offered by Brittany Ferries, some fly down for a week in the autumn and go on a tour of site inspection, some motorhomers don’t stay on sites at all, and some take a site guide and travel from place to place just phoning ahead to ask about vacancies.
Can you really rely on other people’s opinions? Personally I would have hated to be stuck for weeks on some of the winter sites in Spain which get glowing recommendations, so I spent many winters further afield. But I hope it goes well for you. Good wishes to you.

fwiw ...
Hi,
Another strong vote for a simple & cheap fly drive trip to Spain in advance is how we started the choices and picked a site - very glad we did.
Long long way to travel to reach a truly dreadful site - we saw plenty of those on our advance trip - many with glowing reviews. Didnt even park or stop the car at some sites / towns / areas.
Have posted recently on this very subject on other threads.
Again very loathe to recommend specifics as your choice and our choice may be very different.

Absolutely agree with WTG...no need to recce anything except on the journey..
we've stopped at places and turned straight round, stopped at some and felt a day or two was enough, weve even stayed at one site (which return to) that has us asking 'Madame' at the end of the first week if there were vacancies going forward...we ended up spending many (many) weeks there...a spot of heaven (for us) so no recommendations.
