Why not standardise check in & depart times?

because there was a / between the two, ...manages things differently/better... meaning one or the other? Is there any other way of reading that? Also does differently need defining in this context - ie the club's way?
so my question stands, who defines better?
Also why is it when some posters disagree, or question with, a poster are they putting them in the hot seat ? Are posters not allowed to offer a different view/question without that being said?

differently or better ... which ever you perceive is appropriate.
But when 'some' posters disagree, they are then interrogated to the n'th degree .... even making reference to page numbers of what they may or may not have said or even posting parts of somebody's quote because it suited their argument.

Not only are some posters picked up for disagreeing with others, Corners, but some are criticised for agreeing. Seems it’s a lose/lose situation🤷🏻♂️

No my, or one's perception doesn't come into it, he posted:
what is it about us in the uk that can't even be bothered to learn from how other places (or other sites) manages things differently/better?
It's pretty clear that it is his view that other places manage things differently/better (and we can't learn from them)
As to your second paragraph did that happen here on this thread? I don't think it did? And if it happens in other threads as you say so what? This is a discussion forum and counter points are what it's all about, who is say how that should be done - you?
I don't/wouldn't mind what I'm asked to justify my posts and in whatever way people choose.
But getting off topic. Perhaps start a new thread to discuss thing further?

That is so true too. Ridiculed too at times.

how rude is that ED, is it needed? Just argue your point politely?
Good night.

JVB used Black Knowl as an illustration, 11:30/13:00.
One has to ask why? The access lane from the Ober Corner car park point is only 200m long and even that has sufficient space for passing on the bend half way along.
Another point raised is the disparity between minimal staffing levels on CAMC sites and larger workforces on some commercials and "over there" as reasons for the access timings. That being the case, since staffing is the greatest cost of any organisation, why are many commercials and the vast majority of "over there" sites cheaper than CAMC?
ISTM that it's a case of "we've always done it this way"

M, the point is (as David posted out earlier) arrivals coming to fill vacated pitches doesn't cause the site to implode...
in the case of this commercial, surely a customer is entitled to ask if they can make use of that 3 hrs between last off and first on?
i did this, there was no logical reason the office could think of and they welcomed me to arrive after 11.
not only that, the arriving road and the departing road are completely separate....
perhaps they could revise their T/C following a bit of customer feedback?
ill let you know.

Wholeheartedly agree with your post WN, we do the same....abide by the 'rules'.
however, in noticing a 3 hr time gap on a site with separate entry and exit routes one has to think 'why?'
so I rang them and asked....and they didn't know 'why'....probably because they had always done it that way?
once the subject was raised, they said they could see no reason not to arrive after the last departure.

The lane with the speed humps from the main road is far longer than the two hundred metres
Which is very narrow to pass which is why the times are in place
Can you advise of the pay rates and how many of the family are involved with many sites over the channel?
You from you previous work? would I would have thought, have more knowledge of the differences in why it is at times(off peak)when those who say it is cheaper.? over the channel

I agree with the hour difference between leaving ,and arrival time say leave at 11.30, and arrive 12.30
On arrival times, there is no excuse for arriving more then 10 minutes early, with all the traffic navigation and routing solutions available0 -

Some commercials are cheaper, some are dearer. Perhaps not dearer for you and I, but add in all the optional extras and they can be significantly more expensive.
Not really relevant, as we are in the UK section. However over there at ACSI way cheaper, even without the card out of season they are less, but have you seen some of their peak prices.😱1 -
Even CAMC sites are accommodating. I wouldn’t have rung for it, but the day before we were due at Morvich, we received a confusing email about amending our booking, which we hadn’t done. I rang the site to check and it had been generated and sent accidentally when they were sorting the VAT discount. As an aside I just checked the arrival time and was told although 1pm, I could arrive any time after 12:00. Due to delays we arrived about 12:30.😀

Oh, BB, you do get all defensive at even the mildest bit of teasing don't you?
But given your prodigious memory of all things CT (no little lack book needed for you, eh?) I'm sure you'll recall that I was long in agreement about the case for more flexible arrival/departure arrangements on most CT sites? (Not that it matters to us nowadays, we can arrive down here 24 hours a day, whenever it suits!)
Mind you, given my, arguably, equally prodigious memory (no, I don't have a little black book), I'm sure I remember early arrivals as being amongst your characteristics of "the selfish few"!

I really do not understand what the problem is ,as there is no excuse for being ,at the most ten minutes early ,with all the navigation and routing programs available these days
To be much earlier these days ,it is a deliberate decision0 -
Wow you don't like your views/opinions being questioned do you BB
I use italics to make clear it is from someone's post and not my words, I find it easier than using quotation marks. Have I debated the word better that you used or did I just ask whose definition of (it being) better are you using? or are you trying to avoid any answer?
As for deflection, again you saying that doesn't make it true, and do I really have that power? I would have thought that yours and anyone's posts stands on its own merits and nothing I can do would affect that?

And as for posts boring us, you don't come near to taking the prize for that one, Corners😎

At FM it is 1300 for most, but every day there seems to be those who think it does not apply to them
Although the 1300 arrival on most sites was introduced. when sites opened after the first lockdown to give site staff more time to do the additional work required to make sites as safe as possible for members.
,which was put in place as a blanket arrival time to cover all levels of sites and staff cover at each
With the continual rise it seems with the latest variant of covid and the lifting of restrictions ,it is very obvious, that many "think its all over" as masks are not now being worn by the vast majority of people in any areas

All the apps and devices i use ,use postcode so that could not happen today

defensive?, hardly....just like to reply courteously these days as, if my (prodigious) memory serves me well, you used to get really upset if I pulled votre jambe
If I have a little humourous dig back then I'm 'antagonistic'. If I answer you politely, I'm 'defensive'. Never going to get it quite right for you, am i?
however, enjoy your early arrivals. Guess that's the advantage of renting your own pitch in the same place.
sorry, but I can't make sense of your last sentence

Was I talking about you, specifically?
of course, if you think that's the case, by all means give us chapter and verse....

Why would I have been "upset" by any of your "leg pulling", BB (yes I can read, understand and even speak a little French when necessary! ).
But to explain my last sentence, a little while ago, there was a thread running which produced a whole lot of criticism of certain site users. You posted a list of what you called "selfish" characteristics, first and most memorable of which was expecting to be allowed to arrive early when sites had a stated "earliest arrival time"! (Or, there again, maybe you never wrote any such thing! )
