Green Cards, Good News

It seems the EU will be scrapping the obligation for UK drivers to show a Green Card when entering the European Union. It is not immediate but hopefully by the time we are all free to travel it will be.     Yes David that is good news.  I see from the article that this will take effect 20 days after the publication in the EU Journal; let's hope they get on with it asap as I hope to go at the end of August.  My insurance covers Europe but at the moment I still have to get a Green Card.  I hope this also covers the need for a separate Green Card for the caravan.

    Just renewed my motorhome  insurance and green card for year came automatically.

    I asked my MH insurers last week and they have confirmed that Green Cards are no longer required.  The UK Gov website also confirms this for EU members (as well as Switzerland, Norway etc).

    I believe though that it is still recommended to carry the registration documents as proof of ownership. Not sure how important that is.
