Hi everyone, I just wanted to clear up any confusion regarding the post that was removed. The post wasn't removed by a moderator but by the Club. We received concerns over the way members were described by a staff member. This as such did contravene our guidelines (even staff get moderated!). The information though was very useful and if JK would prefer I can just moderate the last part of the post.

We are in the 21st year of the 21st century where proliferation of buy online and delivery by courier to just about anywhere is possible.
There are numerous drop off / collection units popping up outside bingo halls, railway stations, blocks of flats, shopping parades, pubs etc.
Doubtless these attract a fee for the host.
Perhaps the CAMC might see a way to provide a facility to its customers that doesn't require Wardens time.
The courier drops / collects the parcel you have ordered.
InPost is such a service, others are Hermes, Amazon etc.
Obviously this is of no interest to those stuck in the past or see only problems in everything new or see Wardens as serfs to wait on them hand foot and mouth.

When as I have been told ,parcels to be signed for to sites are more prolific? And with many site offices closed at times during the day , even longer on one couple sites ,it would need somewhere on sites that would overcome the problems that would and at times happens of non delivery. from what I have been told there is already problems on some sites that tend to attract those who the LV is their home

Have you not noticed that since the advent of covid 'signed for' has largely ceased? Instead there are QR codes, bar codes and photographs in use.
The cupboards KS describes are well able to scan items and, therefore, record deliveries and collections.
It would work without a doubt but whether the club perceives a need for it and is willing to go down that route is a different matter.
I cannot see it matters one iota whether the recipient of a parcel lives in a house or a van. After all, there is a 21 day max stay on site for all. Still, it provided you with another opportunity.🙄

Whilst the set up KS describes would probably not be cost affective just for the site. If it could be positioned where the local community could access it, that might make a difference. There is also the option of existing click and collect locations, Hermes have a lot, as do Amazon. In fact I was amazed at the number of Amazon hubs. If one was at River Breamish site, which seems a fair way from anywhere, there is a collection point 13 minutes walk away.

What I'm saying is quite clear, JV, and needs no elaboration. It's unfortunate but I can’t say the same for your post😕

That’s a good bit of thinking, Steve, to extrapolate the use into the local community and also to make use of the numerous existing facilities.👍🏻

The one I use for collecting / dropping off is available to a host of companies that deliver/collect parcels. It's outside a bingo hall in a leisure park.
Various online platforms give the option of using it when 'posting' parcels.
In my working life, there are such units next to ticket machines that the installers pay us a fee. It fits in the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) bit, that is sadly often written but seldom practiced in these times of corporate greed.

+1👍🏻, plus there’s always Amazon Hub locker but That has obvious limitations😊

....and the reason for removing my post was......?

That's obviously something the recipient will have to factor into his timing calculations and take responsibility for sorting out. It's no different if delivered to a machine or a willing warden in that respect.

I believe the ones sent to machines are collected and sent back after a set time, as are those to click and collect locations. Which are usually shops / garages constantly staffed with long opening hours. A warden will have no such arrangement and have to organise a collection with the delivery firm. Then of course be available to hand the parcel over when the driver arrives.
There is scope to rearrange where a delivery is going after dispatch with many couriers. Although I think that is only intended for to a neighbour or close by, rather than a different area of the country.

So auto collection/return is another plus point for using machines👍🏻
